These youth leagues teach the FUNdamentals of baseball while encouraging teamwork and good sportsmanship. Game times are determined by the number of teams in each league. A reduced injury ball is used. Participants must wear athletic shoes/cleats and provide their own glove. Due to lice issues in the past, we also ask that players bring their own batting helmet. SMARGORP HTUOY NFL FLAG FOOTBALL PLEASE NOTE: We will not be taking player/team requests for 4th-8th grade flag football. The only requests that will be granted are siblings being placed on the same team. Coaching together, riding together, friends, will not be considered. Only ONE player request will be granted for K-3rd grades and players must request each other. NFL FLAG is the premier youth flag football league for boys and girls. Each participant will receive an NFL replica jersey. This program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact, continuous action while learning lessons in teamwork. It is designed to educate players about football while emphasizing participation and sportsmanship. Players learn skills and lessons that help them succeed both on and off the field. Mouth guard is required for 3rd-8th grade (optional for K-2nd). Volunteer coaches are needed. Recreation Tree Climbing utilizes professional climbing gear to ascend into and explore tall trees. Climbers build self-confidence and connect nature and themselves in a unique way. The tree climbing adventure is enjoyed by individuals, in small groups, and particularly rewarding to families. Bring a sense of adventure, challenge yourself and enjoy the views from the branches of trees close to 200 years old. Once you are in your harness and clipped on rope, you are free to ascend at your own pace and move about the tree as you feel comfortable with. The first half of each day will introduce or re-introduce students to the basic techniques of archery emphasizing the care and use of equipment, range safety, stance and shooting techniques, scoring and competition. The second half of each day will connect students with the outdoors and enhance their encounters with nature. Please note that there is a $2.00 GymDandy Service Fee for all online reservations. For reservations made with cash or check, you will need to visit the Recreation Department in person. 4. Once your reservation request has been sent, the Mt. Horeb Recreation Department will send an email to you approving or denying the rental. 5. Refunds will not be provided if you cancel your reservation less than two weeks prior to your reservation date. If your event is cancelled due to poor weather, and a rain date cannot be agreed upon, you will receive a refund (minus a $5.00 administrative charge).
