Luke Jerram’s Dorset Moon
Fifty years on from the first moon landing, three Dorset arts festivals join forces to present Dorset Moon, an exciting new
addition to the 2019 summer season.
Friday 28 - Sunday 30 June 2019, 9am to midnight daily
St. Peter’s Church, Hinton Road, Bournemouth BH1 2EE
(NOTE: This is a change in site, due to wind limitations on the artwork, the original site was planned for Bournemouth
Central Gardens, and this Access Guide reflects the updated site, schedule and access information).
This Access Guide is produced by Activate Performing Arts and aims to inform and support audiences planning to
attend Dorset Moon. The guide contains information about accessing our events and the facilities available to
audiences onsite. If you have any further questions or feedback, please contact us (Contact details on page 9).

Blue Badge    Y    There is one allocated Blue Badge space at the front of St Peter’s
Parking            Church. Please advise the Info Point on arrival to be given a
                   permit to display during your visit. This is one a first-come-first-
                   served basis and cannot be reserved in advanced.

                   There is limited Pay & Display street-parking on Hinton Road.
                   The nearest Blue Badge parking is located in Central Car Park,
                   and is Pay & Display. See Travel info on page 7 for further details.
Drop off      Y    It is possible to drop-off directly outside the church, and then park
point              your vehicle elsewhere. Please note this is a permit-only car park,
                   and parking in the bays will incur parking enforcements.

Accessible    Y    There is an accessible toilet for visitor use located inside St Peter’s
Toilets            Church. This is access via 3 steps, or by lift.

                   The nearest general public toilets are in the Lower Gardens, 0.2

Grading Key
The following coding system has been used where possible, detailed descriptions on each site are also included. The
information included in this guide is to help audience members decide which routes they want to take as they move
around the event site. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask a member of Activate at the festival
information points or Contact Us via details on page 9.
GREEN: Gentle to moderate gradients with reasonably level surfaces. Path surfaces include tarmac, short grass and firm
compacted gravel. No narrow gaps, steps or other access restrictions. Suitable for some wheelchair users and mobility
scooters but assistance may be required on some slopes and surfaces.
ORANGE: Moderate gradients with uneven surfaces. Long grass and uneven surfaced paths with loose gravel, and
larger sized stones. No narrow gaps, steps or other access restrictions. Suitable for some all-terrain mobility scooters.
RED: Steep gradients or paths with narrow, uneven surfaces. Long grass, un-surfaced paths with larger diameter loose
gravel, bare earth, exposed tree roots and large stones. Narrow gaps including bridges, steps and other access
restrictions.
