Minutes of 2019 AGM Tuesday 20th August 2019 Upcoming meetings Westin Hotel, Perth 2019 saw COVID-19 social distancing and group gathering Attendees: 70 attendees restrictions in place across Australia. 2020 AGM WA QC Subcommittee Report 2020 WA Branch Chair Report: Liz Byrnes The WA QC Subcommittee have focused on two main projects this past year, The highlight of our past year would have to be the Chemical Pathology Course the first being the ongoing development of a Helicobacter Breath Test program in Perth in February. 2020 – 2021 2020 WA Branch Chair Report (cont.) 2020 WA Branch Education Report (cont.) 2019 - 2020 WA Branch Treasurers Report: Nishevitha Shanmugarajah As of 30th June 2020, The Western Australian branch currently has 138 active members, which is an increase from 70 at the same time last year. Since July 2019, we have hosted 3 monthly scientific meetings, the Roman Lecture and most importantly, the RCPA/AACB Chemical Pathology Course in Perth in February 2020, just before COVID-19 became a problem. The Roman Lecture was a highlight with a good attendance of around 70 registrants for the event. The following table shows a summary of the WA Branch Profit/Loss for the period 1st July 2019 to 1st August 2020. Unfortunately we made a loss this year, due to an advance deposit for the 2021 Education Day at Perth Zoo. The branch strives to be cost neutral across all events and all our accounts are managed by the national office, which provides good transparency and a high level of audit.
