Dear Parents and Juniors,
Thank you for joining our 2021 Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Tour! We are excited
about what the 2021 season holds as we have many great tournaments and venues scheduled
for the tour this year.
First off, remember that the best way to keep up with junior tour news is to like us on

find out about schedule changes, upcoming events, scholarships, pictures, videos and more!
Did you hear about the Golf Marathon Sun Country held last year? PGA Professionals and
junior golfers from all over New Mexico and El Paso played 100+ holes of golf in one day to
raise money for the Sun Country Junior Golf Foundation and a charity of their choice. With
the proceeds, the Junior Golf Foundation has partnered with Youth on Course to bring $5
rounds of golf to juniors all across the Sun Country. We’re starting small but hope to expand
rapidly. This summer, if you see that your local pro is doing a golf marathon, please make a
pledge to support them. Every donation helps us build junior golf in Sun Country!
We are excited to have you as a member of the 2021 Sun Country Junior Golf Tour and

Dear Junior Tour Parent:
Welcome to the 2021 golf season! At the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association, we are
thrilled you have chosen to get your child involved in golf. The Sun Country Junior Tour is
a fantastic avenue to introduce your youngster to a game that will last a lifetime.
If you would like to experience the same fun and excitement that your junior will enjoy this
summer, I invite you to join the activities of the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association.
Our organization, in conjunction with the United States Golf Association, conducts over 30
events annually for different amateur groups from junior golfers to senior players. Several of
these events each year are geared for unaccomplished players wishing to become involved in
competitive golf.
In addition, we invite you to explore golf at your local club. Our association is made up of
approximately 90 clubs in New Mexico and West Texas, all of which have a multitude of
opportunities for you to grow in the game of golf. The easiest way to get involved at your
local club is to join the local men’s or women’s golf association.

Sun Country PGA Junior Tour
The Junior Tour is a developmental golf tour for junior golfers 7-18 years old. Courses throughout
New Mexico and El Paso, Texas, will host a series of 40-45 tournaments during the months of June, July
and August.
The Junior Tour is not intended for juniors who are seeking lessons, it is a developmental tournament
series. Members must have sufficient ability and knowledge of the rules to participate at the tournament
level. However, they do not have to be "elite" players. Any junior who plays golf recreationally can join
the tour.
Eligibility
Anyone may belong to the Sun Country PGA (SCSPGA) Junior Tour, provided they are between the
ages of 7 and 18 (age 7 on or before August 1, 2021 and have not reached their 19th birthday on or prior
to August 1, 2021) and have not attended a semester of college. The player’s age as of the last day of
the summer season, August 1, 2021, will determine the age division he/she will compete in through-
out the season.
If a player wishes to play up in age division they will need to submit a request to the Sun Country Jun-
ior Tour before the season begins. Once accepted, players will be moved into the older age division and
will not be able to switch back to the age division they were originally in. Players who move up in age
division will have to meet playing standards for that age division or will be subject to demotion and loss
of current Player of the Year Points.
The Sun Country Section is comprised of the state of New Mexico and El Paso County, Texas. Non-
residents are welcome to join the Junior Tour and may play in any regular or championship events. How-
ever, non-residents are not eligible to qualify for the Junior PGA National Championship through Sun
Country. Please see the “Championship Eligibility” section for more information.

SCJT Caddie Program
• Continuing in 2021, only players playing in 9 hole events will be able to employ caddies. This will
mainly pertain to 7-12 year olds playing in 9 hole events. If you are 7-12 years old playing up in the
13-15 age division you will NOT be able to employ a caddie. If you were a player in the past who
was 13-18 years old, you will NOT be able to employ a caddie going forward.
• Caddies must be 18 years of age or older.
• Caddies must register to be an official caddie for the 2021 season prior to acting as a caddie in any
event. This includes payment of the membership fee, passing the Caddie Test with a 90% or better
and sending in a head shot image for their ID badge. Those that do not register will not be allowed to
caddie for any player until registration is complete.
• Once we have received your payment, your passed test and your head shot image, there is a
processing and shipping time of 5-10 business days. Packets are sent via First Class mail. We
cannot accommodate rush order requests. Caddies MUST have their official bib and ID in or-
der to caddie, even if they have paid and passed the test, so please complete your certification
well in advance of the event(s) you wish to caddie for.
• Returning caddies must pay the certification fee for 2021, pass the Caddie Quiz again as a re-
fresher before caddying, and be issued a new ID, valid for 2021. If you would like to reuse the
photo from last year, please indicate that in an email to reese@suncountrygolfhouse.com after
you register and we will check our archives for your photo.
• Caddies are to assist their player during the course of the round. This is not a time for extensive
coaching and training. Similar to caddies at the highest level, they assist the player with yardages
and club selection and then let the player do the rest. Extensive coaching may result in a caddie not
being allowed to caddie in future.
• All caddies must check in at registration at each tournament and present their caddie badge. Caddies
must wear the official caddie bib when caddying at any Sun Country Junior Tour event.
• Registration is good for the summer season of the calendar year in which the caddie registers. Cad-
dies must re-register each year.
• If a caddie wishes to use a golf cart during a Sun Country Junior Tour event, they must write a letter
to the Sun Country PGA Board of Directors describing their situation and must be able to provide a
state-issued handicap placard to be considered for riding privileges. Caddies are advised to begin this
process early to allow enough time for all documentation to be submitted and reviewed by the board

Eligibility to Play up in Age Division
Sun Country Junior Tour season, players will be eligible to play up in age division. Players must submit
request for review to the Sun Country Junior Tour before the season begins. Once accepted, players will

Entry Procedures
After signing up for membership, juniors log in from the Junior Tour page of the website using their
username and password. With their login, players can view the tournament schedule and event infor-
mation, register for and cancel out of tournaments along with the ability to view results. These services
are provided as part of the membership fee.
It is the parent / junior’s responsibility to follow through and confirm membership and tournament reg-
istrations. If you do not receive an email confirmation, do not assume you are registered. If a tournament
has filled, the Junior Tour staff cannot accommodate juniors who incorrectly assumed they were regis-
tered for that event. Similarly, if you do not receive an email confirmation, do not assume that you are
not registered. A no show that results from such a case will still be subject to the No Show regulations
(see page 9). Check your account to confirm your tournament schedule, or call the Section office to verify
membership or tournament registration.Page 8
Online
• Membership registration will be available online at www.suncountryjuniorgolf.com beginning
early January.
• Tournament registration opens early January.
• American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover accepted.
Tournament entry and cancellation deadlines are Three (3) business days prior to each event.
Players will be able to view their confirmed tournament schedule online by accessing their Blue Golf ac-
count.
Online registrations receive preference
Late Entries
The deadline for Sun Country Junior Tour events is seven (7) days before each event. Late entries will
only be accepted through the Sun Country Golf House until three (3) days before the event. During this
time the price of the event will be increased by a late fee charge of $15. Once the pairings and tee times
have been emailed to players three (3) days before the event, there will be no more late entries accepted.
To enter into a Sun Country Junior Tour event past the deadline please call the Sun Country Golf House
at (505) 897-0864.
Refunds and Withdrawals
• Prior to the deadline, you must withdraw from a tournament by accessing your account online.
• A cancellation fee of $5 for regular events, $10 for majors, will be deducted from the entry fee.
• The remainder of the entry fee will be credited to your Blue Golf credit account.
• After the deadline has passed, you must withdraw by calling the golf house.
• No tournament credits or refunds will be given for withdrawing after the deadline.
No Show Policy
A “no show” is a player who registers for an event but does not show up the day of the tournament and
does not follow proper withdrawal procedure. When a no show occurs, it prevents another junior from
playing in the tournament by taking up a spot. A no show creates a problem for the hosting course in or-
ganizing the pairings, scoreboards, lunches and scorecards.
Upon the first no show offense, the player will forfeit the entire entry fee and will be issued a written
warning. Upon the second offense, the following consequences will apply:
• Forfeiture of entire entry fee
• Loss of eligibility for Player of the Year Award
• Loss of eligibility to play in the Junior PGA Championship Qualifier
• Loss of eligibility to participate in any other major championships
Players are encouraged to write letters of apology to the hosting golf professional and the Junior Golf
Committee (c/o the Section office) following a no show offense. After a second offense, no appeals for re-MEMB E R G UIDE Page 9
establishment of privileges will be considered.
A record of no shows will be kept. If a member’s name appears on a regular basis, membership may be
revoked.
A late entry player who no shows will be charged the full late entry fee of $50 and may be subject to the
above consequences after the first offense. The credit card used to guarantee the player’s spot will be
charged.
To withdraw prior to the deadline, log into your Players’ Club account.
Withdrawals after the deadline must be made through the golf house.
Player Rules & Regulations
• USGA Rules of Golf shall govern play at all times, modified by local rules.
• Disqualification Policy for 7-12 YEAR OLDS ONLY: No player in the 7-12 year old age divi-
sions will be disqualified for any accidental violations of the Rules of Golf. Instead, the player
will be assessed a maximum score of 8 on any hole where the infraction could normally lead to
disqualification. In situations where the round or hole has been completed, the score of 8 will ap-
ply to the last hole played or to the hole where the infraction occurred. Exceptions: a player or his
caddie may be disqualified for code of conduct violations, unauthorized use of electronic devices,
or a deliberate infraction of the Rules of Golf.
• Tee times and pairings will be emailed out to the players three (3) days before each event.
• All competitors must walk and carry their own bag or have a certified caddie.
• Players may not ride in motorized carts.
• Players may use pull carts.
• Electronic measuring devices are permitted during tournament play.
• Some electronic devices (MP3 players, portable game systems, etc.) are not allowed on the course
during tournament play. Cell phones (players’ and spectators’) may be carried but must be turned
off. Juniors and spectators may not use cell phones while on the course.
• Exchange scorecards with a fellow competitor.
• Call out scores at the completion of each hole. Players should verify their score with their
marker before teeing off on the next hole and keep a record of their own scores.
• Maintain a good pace of play.
• Any player who has not holed out by his/her tenth (8th) stroke must pick up his/her ball
and continue to the next tee. The score will be recorded as a “8X”.
• Upon completion of a round, competitors must proceed immediately to the designated scoring area
and return their scorecards.
• All scorecards must be signed by the player and the marker in the presence of a tourna-
ment official. Failure to submit a signed scorecard results in disqualification.
• Signing for an incorrect score will lead to penalty or disqualification (Rule 3.3b(3)).Page 10
• Leave the course in better condition than you found it:
• Rake bunkers • Repair ball marks
• Replace divots • Do not litter
Immediately report any known instances of cheating to a tournament official.
• Accusing another player of cheating is serious. Have substantial evidence before making
any accusation.
• If an incident is not reported to an official before the tournament is over, no action can be
or will be taken.
• Treat fellow competitors, spectators, volunteers and golf course staff with respect.
Dress Code

Conduct
Any conduct that is detrimental to the Junior Tour will not be tolerated, including, but not limited to
the following:
• Throwing and/or breaking clubs • Disrespectful behavior toward staff,
volunteers or sponsors
• Using abusive or profane language
• Consumption of alcoholic beverages
• Intentionally cheating
• Use of tobacco products or drugs
• Damaging the golf course
• Gambling
• Abuse of club facilitiesMEMB E R G UIDE Page 11
The SCSPGA Executive Committee and SCSPGA Junior Committee reserve the right to the final deci-
sion on any matter involving a Junior Tour member, parent, or spectator at any recognized SCSPGA Jun-
ior Tour tournament.
Spectator Rules & Regulations
• Spectators must adhere to the hosting course’s dress code and code of conduct.
• Spectators may not interact with players.
• Remain on the cart path (where available), 50 yards behind the group you are following.
• Do not interfere with groups advancing from behind.
• Do not converse with any player during tournament play.
• Interaction with competitors will be considered the giving of advice (Rule 10.2a) and may
result in penalty and/or disqualification for the competitor.
• Spectators may assist in a search for lost golf balls, as long as no advice is given.
• Spectators may carry food, beverages, umbrellas and jackets for the players.
• Cell phones are to be turned off while on the course. Spectators may not use cell phones when fol-
lowing a group.
• Repeated spectator offenses may result in disqualification, suspension from future tournaments or
suspension of membership for the junior in question.
• Please remember that you are guests of the hosting facility and set an example for the juniors by
always being courteous to players, other spectators, volunteers and golf course staff.
• The Sun Country PGA reserves the right to ban any spectator or spectators from one or
more events.
Awards
Awards will be presented at the conclusion of each tournament for First (1st), Second (2nd) and Third
(3rd) places in each gender and age division. First place (1st) ties are decided by a sudden death playoff.
Second (2nd) and Third (3rd) place ties will be decided by a scorecard playoff starting with the number 1
handicapped hole.
Championships & Eligibility
Junior America’s Cup Qualifier
May 29th-30th, 2021 NM Tech GC; Socorro, NM
This is a 36 hole qualifier for the Boy’s and Girl’s Junior America’s Cup. The three low finishing boys
and girls will qualify to join the Sun Country team at that years event. The fourth team member for each
team will be reserved for a Captain's pick. Active Sun Country Junior Tour members only. Boys and
girls must be 14 years of age at the start of the Junior America’s Cup tournament (July 25 Boys, July 18
Girls) and must have not reached their 18th birthday by the final day of the tournament (July 29 Boys,
July 22 Girls).Page 12
IMG Junior World Championship Qualifier
May 29th-30th, 2021 NM Tech GC; Socorro, NM
This is a 36 hole qualifier for the IMG Junior World Championship for boys/girls 13-14 and boys/girls 15
-18. Active Sun Country Junior Tour members only. This event is for players 13-14 who are not 15 as of
July 4, 2021 or for players 15-18 who are not 18 as of July 4, 2019. The Championship will be host in
San Diego, CA on July 10th-16th, 2021.
SCJT Stableford Championship
July 19th –20th, 2021 Paradise Hills Golf Course; Albuquerque, NM
The Stableford Championship is a stroke play event for 13-18 year olds in which scoring is based
on a point system. It is a very fun and competitive competition in which all kids 13-18 can play in. It will
be located at Santa Fe CC in Santa Fe and is the newest tournament to hit the schedule.
Junior PGA National Championship Qualifier
June 16th-17th, 2021 UNM Championship GC; Albuquerque, NM
This two day, 36 hole stroke play event is the local section qualifier for the Junior PGA National
Championship. Non-residents may participate and place in the tournament as long as they are part of the
Sun Country Junior Tour however they can not qualify for the Championship. The top 2 overall low scor-
ing boys and girls in the 13-18 year old bracket will move on the Junior PGA National Championship,
which will be held at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky on July 27th-30th (Girls) and at Kearny
Hills Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky on July 12th-15th (Boys).
New Mexico - West Texas Junior Amateur
July 27th-28th, 2021 Marty Sanchez; Santa Fe, NM
This premier 36 hole stroke play championship is open to 13-18 year olds who are Sun Country
Junior Tour Members as well as any 13-18 year old SCAGA members with active handicaps. The goal of
this event is to find the top junior players in the Sun Country with a championship that would compete
with any across the country. The tournament entry fee includes green fees and lunch for the competitors
both days.
Sun Country Junior Tour Championship
August 3rd-4th, 2021 NMSU Golf Course; Las Cruces, NM
The Junior Tour Championship is a two-day stroke play event for 13-18 year olds and a two day
stableford event for 7-12 year old Junior Tour members only. The tournament entry fee includes green
fees and lunch for the competitors both days. 1st-3rd place awards will be presented in each age division
for both girls and boys.Page 13
Tournament Results and USGA GHIN Handicap Info
• Tournament results will be available online approximately 5-10 days after the event. Please wait at
least 10 business day for the results to be posted online before calling the Section office.
• All Junior Tour members will be given a USGA handicap index through the Sun Country Junior’s
Foundation Association.
• You will be able to post outside rounds (any round not part of the Sun Country Junior Tour) through
your Sun Country Jr’s Association handicap, using the same GHIN number.
• Do not post your Junior Tour tournament scores or you will double-post. Junior Tour tournament
scores for ages 13-18 will be posted by the Section staff.
• You are responsible for posting outside rounds. Post at your local course or online through
GHIN.com.
• Pairings will be based on a scoring average you provide at registration until your handicap is estab-
lished. Pairings will then be based on your handicap. The Sun Country Junior Tour is not responsi-
ble for the accuracy of the junior’s handicap. It is the player’s responsibility to update out-of-date
indexes.
• Junior Tour Tournament scores will be automatically posted to GHIN

Liability Release Form / Code of Conduct
Each player and his/her parents/guardians agree to the following terms upon registering for mem-
bership.

1. Junior Code of Conduct
1.1 - Dress Code: Player must wear a collared shirt, Bermuda length shorts or slacks, shoes and socks. T-
shirts, tank tops, short shorts and blue jeans are not acceptable. Golf shoes are suggested. Metal spikes are
prohibited at all facilities. Each host facility may have additional rules and dress code requirements that must
be adhered to by all participants. Players not conforming to the dress code will be asked to change or leave.
1.2 - On the Course: Any conduct unbecoming of a junior golfer shall be subject to one warning by an official
and immediate disqualification for any subsequent violations. Such conduct shall include cheating, showing
disrespect to volunteers or officials, abusive language, club throwing, smoking, profanity, littering or leaving
trash on the course, failing to rake bunkers, replace divots, repair ball marks on greens, or other displays of
inappropriate behavior. A player may not seek or accept advice from anyone while competing on the course.
“On the course” is interpreted as from the time the player tees off on their starting hole until after he/she holes
out on the last hole.
1.3 - Off the Course: Violations may result in a letter of warning to parents and players, suspension from the
tournament where the violation occurred, and/or suspension from future events and/or suspension as a Sun
Country PGA Junior Tour member altogether.
• Any use of abusive language
• The use of, or association with, drugs, alcohol, smoking, or chewing tobacco products
• Vandalism of any kind at the host facility
• Disrespectful treatment of a host facility or property
• Any other conduct not becoming of a SCSPGA Junior Tour member will be considered a violation of
the Code of Conduct
2. Parent / Spectator Code of Conduct: Parents/guardians (including grandparents, other relatives, anyone fol-
lowing as a spectator or anyone acting on behalf of the Junior Tour player) must conduct themselves appropriately
at all times, both on and off the course. This includes interaction with Sun Country Section staff, members, and
course staff and officials, in person or via telephone, email or writing.
2.1 – On the Course: The Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Tour encourages spectators and parents to attend
events where allowed, and requires spectators and parents attending to conduct themselves appropriately at all
times.
• Spectators and parents must adhere to the same Dress Code and Code of Conduct laid forth for the
Members of the Junior Tour.
• Spectators and parents may not interact with participants, remaining 50 yards behind the competitors
they are following. Spectators and parents should not interfere with any group advancing from behind,
nor should they converse with any competitors.
• Interaction with competitors will be considered the giving of advice (Rule 8-1) and may result in penal-
ty and/or disqualification for the competitor.
• Spectators are allowed to assist in a search for lost golf balls, as long as no advice is given.
• Spectators are permitted to carry food, beverages, umbrellas and jackets for the players.
2.2 - Off the Course: The Sun Country PGA appreciates parents’ interest in developing their children as golf-
ers. We ask that you respect the interests of other Junior Tour parents and those of the Sun Country PGA staff
by adhering to the following:Page 15
• Parents/guardians (including grandparents, other relatives, or anyone acting on behalf of the Junior Tour
player) must respect the authority of the Sun Country PGA staff, the tournament course’s staff, and any
other representative of the Sun Country PGA.
• Any complaints that cannot be immediately resolved via phone or email must be addressed in writing to
the Junior Committee to be attended to at a later date. If a SCSPGA representative requests that the
parent/guardian submit such a document, the parent/guardian may not insist upon prolonging the conver-
sation.
• Any disrespectful or inappropriate language towards any representative of the SCSPGA will be consid-
ered a violation of the Code of Conduct
• Repeated violations of the Code of Conduct may result in the junior being subject to any or all of the
penalties listed in Section 3.1.
3.1 – Penalties for Violations of the Code of Conduct: Repeated offenses by the junior or parents/spectators may
cause the junior to be subject to any of the four penalties listed below. The SCSPGA reserves the right to ban any
spectator or spectators from one or more events. The Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Committee may assess any or
all of the following penalties based on the severity of the Code of Conduct violation:
1. Disqualify the player from the tournament where the violation occurs.
2. Issue a written letter of warning to the player and his/her parent/guardian.
3. Suspend the player from one or more upcoming tournaments or for the remainder of the season.
4. Suspend the player’s membership indefinitely.
In the event of a suspension, the player may submit a written account of the Code of Conduct violation to the Sun
Country PGA Junior Golf Committee within seven days of the suspension/disqualification. The Committee will
review all submitted materials, including a tournament staff account of the violation.
LIABILITY RELEASE: We the undersigned, acknowledge that we have read, understand and accept all terms
herein. The Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Tour and all its members, directors, agents, escorts, owners, successors
and assignees are free from all liability, claims or other forms of legal action, including costs arising there from,
against any incident which results in or arises out of any loss, property or personal (death included), which may be
sustained by the junior or parent/guardian during travel to, from and participation in any Sun Country PGA Junior
Golf Tour event.
I agree to observe the USGA Rules and Etiquette of golf, to conduct myself on the golf course and in the
clubhouse properly, courteously and to follow the regulations set forth by host clubs and the Sun Country PGA
Junior Golf Tour.
I agree to cancel all entries five (5) days prior to the tournament date if unable to compete for good reason.
I understand that failure to cancel five (5) days prior to the event will result in a forfeiture of my entry fee. I agree
to abide by the prescribed penalties if I fail to cancel within the specified time frame.
I hereby grant the Sun Country PGA and affiliates permission to use photographs taken of me for promo-
tional purposes.
I understand that memberships may be suspended or cancelled for willful disregard of the rules, Code of
Conduct, golf etiquette or for dishonest, unsportsmanlike or unbecoming conduct, by either the player or the play-

This award is based on these criteria, not on playing ability.
Active participation in the Sun Country PGA Junior Golf Tour
for a minimum of three (3) years
High School GPA – 3.0 or better
Level of activity at home club or course
Knowledge of rules / personal behavior / conduct / dress
This award is not given on playing ability, but is based strictly on the above criteria.
Certain NCAA criteria may apply.
The PGA Professional will submit a letter of nomination and evidence of the above
criteria to the Section office. The Junior Committee will review the nominations and
make the final decision. Scholarships will be paid only with evidence of graduation
from high school and enrollment in college.
A $1,500.00 College Scholarship will be presented to the successful candidates –
