YOUR CAREER MATTERS At McDonald’s, we are here to provide you with the Campus Programs for 2019 fall intake. With our development opportunities and your dedication to this career, we look forward to driving a distinctive change for our future talents. We have 3 programs in 2019 for students in different segments to best develop their future careers.
OUR PROGRAMS McTALENT PROGRAM Final year graduates Bachelor’s degree or above RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Final year graduates with Associate degree / Higher Diploma McAMBASSADOR PROGRAM Non-final year undergraduates
McTALENT PROGRAM Final year Bachelor’s degree graduates or above At McDonald’s, we name our high-achievers as “Talents”. This program aims to hire the best-suit candidates to be groomed as our future leaders in operations. To be successful in the McTALENT Program, you will be A graduate with strong passion in restaurant operations. We provide a challenging yet rewarding program for career builders. Adhering to the career path, you will gain the following opportunities Learn the essence of store management for 30 months and become an RGM (Restaurant General Manager). Another 6 months of office attachment for you to gain exposure by contributing to various store-experience-related projects. Upon finishing the office attachment, you will return to a store and perform as an independent RGM to manage a restaurant with over 1M sales for at least 12 months. Career path Development to Business Consultant (within 24 months) As a bridge between store RGM and office management. A Business Consultant manages 5 stores in assigned areas. They will control the P&L of the assigned patch within certain autonomy. Independent RGM (At least 12 months) Only 1 RGM in each store. Every RGM manages over 50 staff in one store and over 1M monthly sales on average. Office Attachment (6 months) Attach to one of our departments and contribute ideas for business improvements. Development to RGM (30 months) 4 stages of development with structured training modules to equip you with sound knowledge of restaurant operations The goal for this program is to nurture the McTALENT to be a successful Business Consultant within 5 years of joining.
OUR McTALENT TEAM Nick Ng University: The Chinese University of Hong Kong Graduation Year: 2015 Major: Bachelor of Science in Biology Why McDonald’s? I determined that an ordinary career path would not be my choice since graduation as I love fun and challenging opportunities. By the time I joined McDonald’s, the program was not yet named as “McTalent”, but the path was already set-up and I was impressed that an F&B company could try a new way to nurture future talent. Your three words to potential McTalents? Fruitful, Challenging, Teamwork Phoenix To University: The University of Hong Kong Graduation Year: 2018 Major: Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering and Technology Management Why McDonald’s? I am a stan McDonald’s fans since I was a child. I am curious as to how McDonald’s sustains its leading position among competitors in the F&B industry in Hong Kong. A large business with over 240 restaurants, I am eager to understand more about its operation. Your three words to potential McTalents? Achievement, Joy, Passion Kenneth Choi University: Lingnan University of Hong Kong Graduation Year: 2018 Major: Bachelor of Business Administration Why McDonald’s? The McTalent Program provides me with an opportunity to understand how a mega business operates, with more than 240 stores in Hong Kong. Your three words to potential McTalents? Challenging, Substantial, Meaningful Edison Yeung University: The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Graduation Year: 2018 Major: Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Why McDonald’s? My reason of joining McDonald’s was a very special one as I would describe. McDonald’s is using a lot of technologies and well-developed systems to foster the business and most importantly, we sell food with enjoyment! I see a huge opportunity to work for a company with promising and sustainable growth in business. Your three words to potential McTalents? Milestone, Mature, Meaningful
RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Final year Associate degree / Higher Diploma graduates Structural training and promotion path designed for you to become a Restaurant General Manager (RGM) within 36 months. To be successful in the Restaurant Management Program, you will be Strongly passion in restaurant operations. Eager to learn and with a can-do attitude Looking forward to a sustainable career rather than a job Willing to learn and have good confidence in yourself The goal of this program is to provide structural training and development scheme for graduates who are keen to achieve extra miles in their early careers.
Career path RGM Restaurant Manager Shift Department General Trainee Manager Manager Manager On-going 36 months development If you enroll in this program while studying for a part-time Bachelor’s degree, upon your completion, we may consider your application to McTALENT program. However, you will still need to go through the required assessment process.
McAMBASSADOR PROGRAM Non-final year students studying in universities The McAMBASSADOR Program is our brand new campus program aims to recruit year 1 to 3 students from various universities. As our McAMBASSADOR, we will provide you with Industry insights sharing by senior executives CV and interview skills workshops Internship opportunities in our HK office Early application and offer extension for internship / graduate opportunities in the upcoming year As our McAMBASSADOR, you will Be a core connection in your university with McDonald’s Promote the McDonald’s brand by participating in campus events or other graduate-hiring-related activities Connect McDonald’s with core societies in university to co-organize activities, depending on suitability
