SECURITY UPDATES The security team has been working very hard on making both St. Joseph and St. Mary campuses a safer and more secure environment. The following items are already established or in the process of being implemented. Children’s Liturgy The children’s liturgy on Sunday mornings has established a safety procedure for the children to enter and exit from their classroom. The Wednesday night classes at St. Mary Campus……. Has established a sign in and sign out policy: Children may sign in on their own but all children must be signed out by a parent when class is over. There is a greeter at the door for the evening and a special thank you to the parents who have agreed to monitor the halls and outside areas while classes are meeting. The lighting in both parking lots has been increased to make sure safe entrances and exits are more visible. Basic First Aid kits are available in all the classrooms. Sunday Night Youth and Thursday Night Youth at the St. Joseph Campus The St. Joseph parking lot lighting has been brightened and will be a safer environment for the youth to come and go for their classes. A system to enter and exit is in the process of being designed to keep the building more secure while the classes meet. St. Mary Church CONGRATULATIONS A card is being designed to help explain procedures for possible types of emergencies, that we as a congregation might have to address. A card is also being to designed to be placed in the pews at St. Joseph. On Saturday, October 27, 9.00 am., everyone is invited to come to St. Mary Cemetery to help clean up our cemetery and prepare it for winter. Requests are same as last Spring: Please bring rakes, shovels, blowers, weed whippers, gloves and mainly yourself. We will provide water and lunch. If you are interested and know you will be able to help please call 263-4681 ext. 5 and leave your name, or just show up and help, all are welcome and appreciated. For Future Reference: Flags may be placed by the gravestone for Veteran’s Day any time after November 1. Christmas wreaths, Grave blankets and Christmas decorations may be placed on the graves any time after November 11. 2018. As you visit the cemetery, please remember that every tombstone has a story, no matter what age the buried person was. The tombstones and grave sites are a reminder that our ordinary lives, have an opportunity to live an extra ordinary mission. It is humbling to see the care and visiting respect given to family members and friends who have passed on to eternal life. How honored the buried are to have so many that take the time to share, reflect and visit them to keep their memory alive. When decorating around the 40” top of the grave sites, please keep your decorations within the grave space or Headstone Markers, not to exceed 38” around the stone and as close to the stone as possible. It would be appreciated that all Shepard Hooks are secured, so they do not fall into the mowing and walking paths, and on other people’s graves. As in the past, all decorations must be of good taste and be maintained and displayed properly. Thank You and God Bless All of you who care for and visit our cemetery.
