for you! Knowing how to make classic cocktails is important. There's only one problem: There are a lot of
them. Unless you're a bartender, there's no way you'll remember what goes into a Sazerac or the
proportions of a Moscow Mule. Luckily, this course will offer hands-on instructions and demonstrations on
how to make these iconic drinks- from a Manhattan to a Daiquiri to a simple whiskey on the rocks. So

      DISCUSSION
Film has the power to bring tears to our eyes, make us laugh until we can’t breathe, or keep us up all night
thinking. In terms of evoking the latter, no genre is as effective as the documentary. The Watermark
Documentary Discussion group will meet twice a month, where we will watch and discuss some of the
best documentaries ever made. As well as critically acclaimed films, we will also cover relevant topical
documentaries and suggestions from the group. Each month, we will stream a different documentary in
the Auditorium and host a post-movie discussion once the film is over.

"Rhythm and Blues" most often describes a style of music that developed after World War II that combines
elements of pop, gospel, blues and jazz with a strong backbeat. When it comes to things with long and
complex histories (like music), we tend to forget just how strongly the present has been influenced by the
past. Pop music today is diverse and draws from many different genres; however, many of these present
day styles would not exist without the strong influence of the rhythm and blues. Throughout the mid-20th
century, rhythm and blues music dominated the music charts and dramatically altered race relations in the
United States. During Soulful Rhythm and Blues, we will gather discuss this rich history and its players as
we listen to the greatest hits and old favorites of the genre

In our Scotch-tasting course, we will sample and learn all things Scotch. Scotch is technically whisky
(spelled without the "e") that has been distilled and matured in Scotland. It is made mostly from malted
barley Scotch, in layman's terms, tastes a lot like bourbon, but with a trademark "bite" dragging along the
back of your tasting. This is the reason some people stay away from Scotch, but for others, it's an acquired
taste that only makes the experience richer. In this course, we will taste various Scotches from different
regions and learn about their histories and how they are made.
