2021 Simpson College Welcome Week Saturday, August 28 – Monday, August 30 Welcome to Simpson College! The entire Simpson Community is excited to have you on campus. Below is the schedule for Welcome Week, along with a key for what is mandatory (though we would love to see you at everything). Due to the spike in the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19, Simpson College has implemented mandatory masking for all individuals inside college buildings. To align with updated CDC guidance, this mandate applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status. Simpson is currently in Phase Yellow: • Campus community vaccination rates between 60% and 79%. • Indoor mask use is required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status. Specifically: • Masks are required in classrooms. • Masks are required for campus housing public spaces. • Masks are required when inside all non-residential buildings. • Masks are required when in private offices when not all present are vaccinated. If all are vaccinated, masks are recommended but not required. • Masks are not required for employees working in shared office space if all have submitted proof of vaccination; masks must be put on when others enter office space. • Masks are optional outdoors including events; social distancing is encouraged. • Indoor events are held at up to 100% room capacity with mask use required. • 35% of unvaccinated full-time students are required to be tested every week. Visit https://simpson.edu/covid19-plan for updated phase and plan information. Schedule Key: ❖: Mandatory event for new first-year students : Mandatory event for new transfer students 1

Visit https://simpson.edu/covid19-plan for updated phase and plan information. In order to get to that level, we need everyone’s help. Here’s what you can do: 5
• Get the vaccine – win some green Need another reason to get vaccinated? Students who have turned in their vaccine information are eligible to win a $200 cash prize. Beginning the first week of classes, we’ll announce five winners per week for 10 weeks. The sooner you submit your information, the better your chances of winning. • Submit your vaccination status Future decisions regarding our response to the ever-changing nature of the pandemic will be dependent upon accurate data. If you’ve received the vaccine and haven’t reported your status, please email a photo of your vaccine card to the appropriate contact. Send your photo to healthservices@simpson.edu. If you are not comfortable sending your information via email, you can present your card in person. ❖ 3:30pm – 5:30pm: Agents of Change: It’s On Us Performance This performance was developed by Simpson College students for Simpson College students.
