2021 SHOWCASE INFORMATION Saturday, June 5th AT PADUA FRANCISCAN HIGH SCHOOL 6740 STATE ROAD PARMA 44134 Dear Parents, Enclosed you will find all the information explaining the procedures for our Annual Showcase – “ WHATEVER IT TAKES” which is June 5TH AT Padua High School in Parma. PLEASE PRINT ALL THE NECESSARY FORMS AND RETURN TO THE STUDIO WITH YOUR ORDERS AND RELEASE FORM. NO FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE STUDIO. ALL OF THE PROCEDURES ARE SET WITH THE STUDENT’S & SPECTATORS SAFETY AND SECURITY AS TOP PRIORITY. We also want to have a smoothly run show for everyone involved. We are requesting that once this information is read – the bottom of this page be printed and signed and returned to Dance Dimensions. The show will obviously run different this year due to Covid guidelines. All audience members must be masked the entire show unless our mask mandate changes prior to June 5th. Dancers are not required to wear masks during their performance however they must wear a mask backstage while waiting. If your child chooses to not wear a mask while she is on stage we ask you send your child with a zip lock bag with her name printed on it that she will place her mask into before walking onto the stage. It will then be returned to her upon exiting the stage. If you chose to have your child wear a mask while dancing we ask that it is tan, any style. We are so fortunate that we can have our dancers on a real stage! Concessions, flowers, snacks, and souvenirs will be available for purchase at the show! Please note that the stage is located in Padua’s Gymnasium this is NOT a standard auditorium. There will be assigned floor and bleacher seating. Please see the ticket order form for more detailed information. WE MUST HAVE EVERY FAMILY’S AGREEMENT FORM RETURNED BY APRIL 24, 2020. PLEASE READ THE ENCLOSED TICKET ORDER FORM WHEN ORDERING TICKETS. MAY AND JUNE TUITIONS AND ALL OUTSTANDING BALANCES MUST BE PAID BEFORE COSTUMES GO HOME, MAY 10 THROUGH SATURDAY, MAY 15. A Parent MUST pick up the costumes FOR CHILDREN AGES 12 AND UNDER COSTUMES WILL ONLY GO HOME ON THE DAY THAT YOUR CHILD HAS EACH CLASS. **PLEASE PICK UP YOUR CHILD’S COSTUME ON EACH DAY THE STUDENT HAS CLASS** We will also include instructions for proper alterations, make-up, and hair. Please make sure that all parts and pieces of the costume are in the bag. Please do not wait until picture day to check. PLEASE TAKE THE COSTUME OUT OF THE BAG AND HANG ON A HANGER. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOUR CHILD’S NAME BE PLACED IN ALL COSTUMES, SHOES, ACCESSORIES, AND TIGHTS. If alterations are needed after the costumes have been distributed, they will be the responsibility of the parent and be communicates through email from each teacher.
PICTURES Professional class and individual pictures will be taken AT THE STUDIO on Sunday, May 23. A SCHEDULE OF TIMES FOR YOUR CHILD’S CLASS PHOTO IS INCLUDED IN THIS PACKET. Purchasing pictures is not mandatory, but we would like the entire class present for the class picture. Students should be in full costume, proper make-up and hair for pictures. More information on pricing will be sent home in May. Masks do not need to be worn by dancers for group photos. Masks do need to be worn upon arrival and departure to the studio and when your child is waiting for their photo ***PLEASE RETURN THE PICTURE FORM GIVEN WITH COSTUMES ON PICTURE DAY*** PLEASE RETURN THE COMPLETED PICTURE ENVELOPE TO THE PHOTOGRAPHER ON PICTURE DAY. TIGHTS Each class is required to wear a specific color of tights. A list of all tights needed is included in this packet THE DEADLINE TO TURN IN YOUR TIGHT ORDER FORM IN MAY 1 We have teamed up with Jeanita’s to make obtaining these tights convenient and more cost-effective for you. Enclosed you will find an order form for your child’s tights. If you choose not to get the tights through the discounted plan, please make certain that the correct tights, style, and color are purchased. PLEASE NOTE DUE DATE ON ORDER FORM FROM JEANITA’S. PLEASE PRINT FORM AND RETURN YOUR ORDER TO STUDIO. VIDEOTAPING A professional recording of the Show will be done this year. Cost of the DVD is $45.00 or 2 shows for $80. Order form is enclosed and Showcase recordings may also be purchased on the day of the Show. You may videotape on the night of the Show ONLY WITH A HAND HELD CAMERA WITH NO LIGHTS. VIDEOTAPING MUST BE DONE WHILE SEATED FROM YOUR OWN SEAT. YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR DRESSING ROOM PASS TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD AFTER THE SHOW DOWNSTAIRS IN THE CAFETERIA NO DANCERS WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE AUDIENCE ON SHOW NIGHTS. NO ENTERING OR EXITING WILL BE PERMITTED WHILE A NUMBER IS BEING PERFORMED. IT IS DISTRACTING TO THE DANCERS AND THE AUDIENCE. YOU MUST WAIT TO ENTER AND EXIT BETWEEN NUMBERS. VOLUNTEERS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE AUDITORIUM TO ASSIST YOU ONCE SHOW HAS BEGUN. QUICK CHANGE PROCEDURE *Those students that have a quick change (5 NUMBERS OR LESS) and Performing Company students (4 NUMBERS OR LESS) may use the QUICK CHANGE AREA LOCATED BEHIND THE STAGE. All dancers bring costumes to Quick Change before the Show T-SHIRT A T-shirt commemorating this year’s Showcase will be available for purchase beginning in April. Our Show theme, year, and logo will appear on the front. The shirt is available in cotton or performance material A display of the logo will be available in the coming months. Shows have changed due to covid so please make sure you have read the attached show lineups to ensure ordering for the correct show(s) All tickets will be dated and numbered in the order in which they are received. Padua’s stage is in a gymnasium, it is not a traditional auditorium set up. The stage is at the North end of the gym, there will be chair seating on the floor in pods of 4 chairs per the health department facing the stage. Bleachers are on the east and west side of the gym therefor if you are seated in the bleachers you will need to quarter turn to watch the show. Bleachers will give a higher view of the stage. Bleacher tickets are assigned in pods of 2 per the health department. Below are the limit of tickets based on each show… If your child is in show 1 you can purchase up to 6 tickets. 2 of the 6 will not be seated together, due to covid guidelines – some may be floor, some bleachers If your child is in show 2 you can purchase up to 6 tickets. 2 of the 6 will not be seated together, due to covid guidelines, some may be floor, some bleachers If your child is in show 3 you can purchase up to 6 tickets. 2 of the 6 will not be seated together due to covid guidelines, some may be floor, some bleachers If your child is in show 4 you can purchase up to 5 tickets. 1 of the 5 will not be seated together due to covid guidelines, some may be floor, some bleachers If your child is a graduating senior you may purchase up to 8 tickets for any show Tickets are $20 each. If you are buying for multiple shows your first show is $20 each but then $15 for other shows. This discount cannot be combined with same show tickets. Dear Parents, Please note that the showcase will be in a flash drive format. The 2021 Showcase will be professionally taped. This is a great way to remember the year, but the video also makes a great learning tool for the students. The video will offer views from the front and off side. I have requested that no “one person” close up shots so the students can see themselves throughout the entire performance. Videos can be ordered up until the day of the Show. We highly recommend that you order your video as early as possible. Please make sure that the bottom of this form is completed and returned at the time of the order. Checks should be made payable to Dance Dimensions. Cost of the Showcase video is $45.00 or 2 shows for $80.
