OVER VIE W Nestled between the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and the gentle flowing Delaware River, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, built in 1911, has been delighting guests for more than a century. Combining historic charm and modern conveniences, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is centrally located between New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, and is home to a 27-hole championship golf course, ShawneeCraft Brewery, multiple on-site dining facilities, Shawnee River Trips, Spa Shawnee and Salon and The Shawnee Playhouse.
Accommodations The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort offers a variety of comfortable accommodations for guests. Our 103 guest rooms and suites balance comfort, convenience, and charm. From the rooms in our main inn to our unique cottages and lodge, all offer views of either the famous golf course, the Delaware River or our expansive landscaped grounds. Each of our guest rooms boast the comforts of home in an old-world setting. All rooms feature turndown service, individual climate control, and a luxury pillow and sleep menu to ensure your best rest yet. Our Green Initiatives
At the historic Shawnee Inn and Golf
Resort, we feel it is our responsibility to be
stewards of this beautiful, natural
environment we call home. It is our goal to
minimize the carbon footprint of our
operations and introduce programs that
emphasize sustainability. Environmental
responsibility is recognized as a key priority
for our organization. The Shawnee Inn and
Golf Resort is committed to reducing its
carbon footprint and assisting
organizations in planning environmentally
responsible meetings.
Shawnee’s Island Farm
Shawnee’s honey bees
Some of our initiatives include utilizing our 25,000 square foot farm
to supply fresh produce, and herbs to our restaurants and kitchen. In
the spring our Maple Trees are tapped to produce our very own
maple syrup. We use China service over the use of paper, plastic, or
Styrofoam products. On our golf course, our mowers place clippings
back into the ground helping to facilitate the growing process. We
continue to maintain naturalized areas for birds and other wildlife on
our golf course, as well as, using the Rain Bird System for irrigation.
Our hotel is a member of the Global Soap Project. With 4.6-million
hotel rooms in the United States, an estimated 2.6-million soap bars
are discarded every day. This program collects discarded soap from
hotels and reprocesses it into new bars that are given to vulnerable
populations throughout the world.
Twice a year Shawnee hosts the River Road Cleanup.
Our volunteers collect litter along a River Road and
through parts of the national park. This event directly
benefits local residents because River Road is the main
route that extends through the town of Shawnee on
Delaware. This event allows for residents of the local
community as well as Shawnee employees to
participate in the day’s activities
Team Building The Shawnee Inn has the availability to offer effective team bonding through initiative games, trust games, ice breakers, and activities in addition to utilizing our natural beauty through river events and nature-based team bonding activities that have bonafide outcomes through debriefing and trained facilitators. We specialize in creating an atmosphere where each of your attendees can relax and learn what is important about being part of a team, shared goals, a sense of commitment, trust and most importantly, FUN! Our team bonding events range from light to challenging scenarios and include such activities as orienteering, primitive fire building, boat building, a company game show, and a confidence course.
Holiday Parties The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort really decks the halls during the holiday season! We can accommodate intimate or grand holiday parties. We have specifically designed holiday menu’s, seasonal centerpieces and other décor in accents of red and green, if your group desires, and discounted room rates for all holiday parties. The large Christmas Tree and fireplace in our main lobby make great photo opportunities for all our guests. And let’s not forget jolly old St. Nick, who can make an appearance at your event as well!
