When Team Texas arrives in Seattle -- and Beyond 16
Airport to the University of Washington • Sea Tac "Welcome Center" will be located near the baggage claim. (Families can ask questions here.) • Volunteers will be staged throughout the airport to assist all teams arriving to the USA Games. • Team baggage will be trucked to UW, everyone will use the Light Rail to get to campus. • Volunteers will assist and guide teams on getting to the University. • Arriving at UW, volunteers will be at the University to assist when teams arrive 17 / Special Olympics Texas

Access to the “Light Rail” system at the Airport is located on the 4th floor of the parking garage. 19 / Special Olympics Texas
Our mode of transportation from the Airport to the University of Washington will be the “Light Rail” system. 20 / Special Olympics Texas
The “Light Rail” system is very easy to use: there’s a placard with all the stops located above each of the entry/exit doors. The ride from the Airport to UW is about 45 minutes long. 21 / Special Olympics Texas

Housing • Team Texas will be housed together. 2 possible locations: UW North – One dorm has community bathroom and shower located in the center of each side of the building floor. The other dorm has cubicles and each cubicle has bathrooms with showers UW West – each room has its own bathroom and shower. • Sheets and towels will be provided • Dorms will NOT have air conditioning…but we won’t need it • Laundry in the dorms is located in the basement area. 23 / Special Olympics Texas

Schedule While We’re in Seattle • Team Texas arrives June 30, 2018 (Saturday) • Upon arrival to the dorms, all members of Team Texas will be greeted by SOTX Staff and will be given Swipe Card for meals, a key for your room, and a FOB chip to access the building. • Following day will be Opening Ceremonies at 12:30pm. (No competitions that day.) Team Texas will wear their general wear. Breakfast will be 6:30am to 10:30am Get ready to travel to Husky Stadium by foot. 41

Transportation to Competition Venues Motorcoaches provided by Boeing and MTR Western There will be hourly shuttles in designated locations Athletes, Coaches, Unified Partners, and Caddies will have priority boarding the shuttles. Buses will be ADA equipped and drivers will be trained on how to use the equipment. Campus venues are walking distance, no shuttles 46

Time With Your Athlete During Games • Access to athletes will be limited. • You will *NOT* be able to travel with your athlete to Games or visit him/her in the housing area or dining facility. • You can coordinate visits through Norm Arias or his/her USA Games coach; your athlete will only be released to you with specified pick-up and drop off times. 58 / Special Olympics Texas

Fundraising Deadlines • The deadline for raising your $800 is May 1, 2018. • The first $400 is due February 28, 2018. You will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt when you meet this deadline. • If you turn in your $800 by May 1, you will earn a USA Games sling pack. 64
T-Shirts and Cap Sales • You earn $10 for every t-shirt sold and $10 for every cap. • Order form is available in your packet. • The deadline for orders is the 25th of every month. • Shirts and caps will be shipped to you by the 1st of every month. 65

Uniform Fitting Process We will call up athletes by name and sport Staff and Coaches, please assist if needed Changing areas are separated into Male and Female fitting rooms Each Athlete & Coach will need to try on general wear and selected uniform to record specific sizes on uniform sheet 75
