FURY FAST CLASSES Tumbling Tumbling is a large component of a cheer routine so is an important part of cheerleading, The term ‘tumbling’ is used to describe gymnastic elements such as cartwheels and back handsprings. At Fury, we have passionate, experienced tumble coaches that expertly develop your child’s skills in a safe way. We believe in ‘perfection before progression’. FAQ What’s the difference between Recreational cheer and All Star cheer? We specialise in All Star teams where athletes get to perform their high-energy routine at competitions, but for those unable to commit to a competitive program we offer termly classes in our Recreational ‘just-for-fun’ program. Recreational teams do not compete, they perform a mini showcase at Fury. If I join an All Star team, do I have to stay on the team for the year? Yes, competitive cheerleading is a unique sport where the annual team routine is choreographed around each individual’s skills and abilities. Each team member plays a specific, unique role in the team. As such, training commitment is vital throughout the year. To give each team and each athlete the best opportunity to succeed and achieve their goals, All Star teams will train 40 weeks of the year during school terms. Do I have to attend all competitions? Yes, you must attend ALL events/competitions. You’ll find these dates in your Letter of Offer emailed to you when you join a team. Here at Fury, we like to be organised; so you’ll have all competition dates before the year even begins! HOWEVER, if you are unable to attend a competition due to a pre-booked holiday you can still join a team. Just have your absence approved prior to joining your new team. What happens if I can’t attend Team Placement day? At West Coast Fury, we keep our teams open all year round. It’s never too late to join a team! It’s best to join at the start of the year, but if you can’t make our Team Placement day simply contact us to book a Free Trial Class. After which, we’ll send you a Letter of Offer just like everyone else. Easy! When will I find out which team I was placed on? Firstly, everyone makes a team at Fury! Once you attend Team Placements we’ll send you a Letter of Offer to join a Fury team. You’ll then need to attend Registration Day to secure your place on a Fury team for 2020. Can’t attend Registration Day? Don’t worry, simply see Sharron at reception. What days will I train in 2020? All weekly training sessions and times will be provided to you in your Letter of Offer. Your weekly commitment can be found on page 6. What costs am I committing to? When it comes to managing money we don’t like surprises! Our costs (your required financial commitments) are listed out on page 7. Some costs are ballpark, but will allow you to consider your budget prior to committing to a team.
FAQ cont. Do you have payment plans? Yes, of course! We offer annual, termly, monthly and now fortnightly and weekly plans. See page 7 for details and our Payment Policy on our website. Plus, you can contact Sharron (Office Manager) at reception with any specific questions. Do I still pay for missed classes? Yes, you do. We calculate your costs on annual requirements, not per hour or per lesson. Any missed classes due to holidays, illness or public holidays are not allowed for in the annual calculations. Do I train during school holidays? Nope, athletes enjoy a well-deserved break. However, most of our athletes love to train so we offer optional holiday classes for fun and fitness. Exception: touring teams that have competitions during the school holidays or shortly after – but you’ll be advised well in advance. Do I need to attend classes if I’m sick or injured? Yes please. Unless you are contagious (in that case, please stay home and keep those nasty germs away). Otherwise, we expect you to attend to watch for any changes made to the routine. Plus this ensures the athlete remains included and engaged with their team. What if I want to cheer on more than one team; do you allow cross-overs? Yes, we do. Some of our athletes love cheer so much they want to be on two teams. You’ll need to express your interest on your Enrolment Form or at Team Placements. We’ll allow you to cross over down one level. The cost is 25% of the lower team for training fees. Plus competition cross over fees and any uniform requirements. When will I know if I’ve been invited to tour? Wining a Bid/Invitation to compete at a National or International event does not automatically mean Fury will accept the bid. Teams will be selected to tour based on their performance throughout the 2020 competition season. Should a team win an invitation to a touring competition (during the July to November 2020 season) Fury will advise on bid acceptance at our earliest convenience. Be prepared to travel within 3 months of winning a bid. Teams will need to abide by our Tour Policy available on our website.
