2018 SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE Celebrating Canadian women in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy NOVEMBER 8-9, 2018
INTRODUCTION The Bloody Mary Film Festival spotlights the works of female-identifying Canadian filmmakers in horror, sci-fi, and fantasy. Named after the legendary mirror ghost from slumber parties past, the two-day festival takes place in November, highlighting the incredible work of female directors from across the country. From the disgusting to the downright delightful, there’s something at BMFF for every genre fan. There are many barriers female filmmakers face in getting their work seen. That’s why, at BMFF, our focus is to bring the best of women-directed Canadian genre cinema to Toronto, allowing audiences to discover and re- discover hidden gems.
WHAT YOUR SUPPORT MEANS Women have many things to be scared and concerned about these days. Getting their films made and seen shouldn’t be part of it. We need your support to help the talented women in this country turn their fears into blood- curdling delights and foster a community of female genre filmmakers. Last year, our audience grew by 25% and engagement on our social media channels tripled, showing that the public is ready to support great films made by women. With your help, we can continue to grow and narrow the gender gap in the genre film industry. Your support is going to make the third instalment of the Bloody Mary Film Festival bigger and better than ever! You will help fund: • Venue rental • Promotional materials and promotion for the festival • Artist fees and travel costs By supporting the Bloody Mary Film Festival, you: • Align your brand with a female-focused organization showcasing diverse women’s voices • Support the growth of gender parity in the Canadian film industry across all genres • Bring amazing films to Toronto audiences hungry for more inclusive media choices
