MISSION WHAT WE DO To inspire and enable all young Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is the largest youth-serving people, especially those who need us agency in the Omaha metropolitan area with eleven service most, to realize their full potential as sites located at Clubs or co-located with area schools. BGCM productive, responsible, healthy, and offers youth after-school programming focused on three priority caring members of society. outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles. VISION A member can discover a hidden talent, get help with their Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands homework, discuss important issues, lead a community service is a leader in youth development project, get a nutritious meal, and engage with caring adults. on the local and national level. We Programming is provided for youth age 5-18, with a focused are transforming our community program for the teens to support academic achievement. Since by providing youth with impactful, our beginning in 1962, the organization has evolved from fun and educational opportunities providing recreation and sports for boys to an organization in a safe environment. These serving young men and young women with a full array of opportunities are led by professional, programs to address a variety of youth needs and develop the positive role models and often total person, all for $30 per member, per year. in collaboration with community partners who help make a lifelong Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands operates Clubs in the Omaha, Council Bluffs, and Carter Lake metro areas, which are located impact in the lives of those we serve. in the neighborhoods that need us the most. We also offer school program sites in coordination with Omaha Public Schools VALUES and Westside Community Schools. These are located at Morton Accountability Middle School, King Science & Technology Magnet, Spring Lake, Consistency Druid Hill, Westbrook, Mount View, and Skinner Magnet. Boys & Cooperation Girls Clubs of the Midlands is open during the school year from Integrity the time school dismisses until 8:00 p.m., and the North and Professionalism South Clubs are open for teens until 10:00 p.m. Average daily attendance is over 1,800, with over 7,000 total members. Staff is engaged appropriately to programming needs and supported by a succession STAFF ENGAGEMENT With the increase in Clubs and need for continuously Completed* improving program planning, delivery, etc., expand the existing School-Based Director position to be an Assistant Director of Programs to include school based responsibilities, and grant fulfilment responsibilities. This full-time position would be necessary to implement and support continuing improvements. Establish parents as key stakeholders by developing 2019** Parent Focus Groups at each location Identify and establish core expectations for safety and Ongoing management of the Club experience STAFF TRAINING Create a training and development team to focus on: A thorough evaluation of Program Quality HR needs will take place Social Media in 2020.
