The upcoming visit has been postponed for 2021 and rescheduled October 2022. Father’s Day Stall We will still hold our ‘special blokes’ day stall early term 4 to recognise the important role you all play in the lives of our students. Donations still needed. Please leave at the front office. We will run a stall for students to pick a gift for the special male (dad, grandpa, uncle, brother or carer) in their life. We are seeking donations for our stall. These may include soap, mug, reusable keep coffee mugs, glass, chocolates, plants, pots, socks, slippers, bbq tools, apron, recipe books, cap, beanie, key ring, drink holder, game, playing cards, photo frame etc). Students can give donations can to class teachers or take to the office. Depending on the number gifts, we hope to offer every student an opportunity to buy a gift. Then if there are spares, students may get additional gifts. To know how many gifts we need, we are asking families to complete the Father’s Day note and return to school with the money ($5 per gift) by end of term. Thanks to all families who have already donated!
Naplan Last week, NAPLAN results arrived at school for Years 3 and 5 students who completed the assessments in May this year. The assessments provide valuable information to schools as all students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 across Australia do the test. The school will spend the next few weeks looking at the information to determine what we are doing well and areas to work on.
Athletics Day 2021- student reflections Discus I feel my hand and it felt like my hand would drop off. I felt like my heart was pumping. The discus was hard for me to hold. It felt bigger than my hand. It felt like I was throwing an egg. After I threw it, it went around in a circle back to Sophie. I was proud. By Laila Athletics Day At Athletics there was Gina, Ms Regan, Mr Barri and Tanya. When we were doing the hurdles it was a race. On my first go I got one point because I didn’t know I had to go to Monique. On my second go I still got one point. It was okay doing the hurdles. I thought we lost but Sword was second, Miler was first. I was shocked when we won. I was so close to crying. By Breanna Athletics Day On the Athletics Day I was so excited to do the 400m sprint challenge. I saw that the 400m sprint was the whole track and I got nervous my heart was beating so fast. When I ran my legs started to get numb and I couldn’t breathe. When I got near to the finish line, my les did not stop running. When I got first and I took a break, I could feel the pain in my legs. By Eh k’lu Shee Athletics day My heart was pumping fast and my legs were shaking. I was just about to run the 400m sprint. The girls went first the whistle blew. I ran. I overtook some girls then I hit the finish line. I came first and I got 3 pints scored. I was so happy and excited and my legs were sore but I was relieved that I won. By Maeson Athletics Day I was so excited and nervous that I was not going to make it over the bar and land face first on the mattress. The first time I actually face planted. As I had more experience I got better. One time I even jumped over the bar and did not knock it down. I was proud. By Katie F Athletics Day When it was the 400m run I felt very nervous. When it was the nine year olds turn to run the 400m run I felt nervous but also excited about it. As it was the girls turn that was nine year olds, my heart was beating so fast because I thought I was going to be second last at the race. As one of the teachers blowed the whistle I ran as fast as I could, there was one girl named Jacey. She was little bit in front of me but as we were in the middle of the track she stopped but I didn’t stop at all. By Shel Ro Paw
Reflections of Doxa Camp to Malmsbury Archery At camp on the second day was archery. I was very excited for this. It’s time for my go. Here goes the first shot: the bow was on its side. As I go to pull and fire the first arrow……. DAM Ihit the white part of the target. Here goes the second shot. I lift the bow up so its diagonal. The wind rustling the string, the birds chirping and me shaking. I take a deep breath and I shoot. I get ……..red/yellow. That’s pretty good. I’ve done my six shots and I got 3 red, 1 miss, 1 blue and 1 white. Well I did well and that’s all that matters. Brock Archery I was scared to lose an arrow. I was worried that I would get into trouble if I lost or broke it by accident. When I was used to shooting the arrow, it got really fun. It was really exciting when I got a bullseye. We had to wear a wrist guard because the bow string could flick your arm and you could injure yourself. At the end of the archery lesson I didn’t want to stop and it was really fun. I would love to try it again. By Ruby Giant Swing When my team started Giant Swing it was exciting and I was looking forward to it. Some people were really challenging themselves. As it was getting close to my turn that’s when it hit. I was starting to shake a bit and my heart was beating fast. When it was my turn I made up my mind and decided to challenge myself because I knew I wouldn’t get another turn. I was going up and up and to the top. I did a count down and …..swish. When I got down I was really proud of myself. By Ler Bwe Htoo
