1. Application Process Application period 15th April -15th July → Apply online on hochschulstart.de → Send the signed application sheet with • recognition of your certificate by the Studienkolleg Konstanz • Certificate of language proficiency in English, level B2 or higher • Completed form regarding your level of German language skills • Statement of Purpose (your motivation to study Computer Science at Ulm University of Applied Sciences) • Curriculum Vitae • Photocopy of passport via postal mail to Technische Hochschule Ulm, Studierenden Service Center, Prittwitzstraße 10, 89075 Ulm, Germany. 2. Admission Process End of July: hochschulstart.de will send you an e-mail if you have been accepted at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. Check your status under „my applications“ 18th August: Deadline to accept the offer. After accepting the study place, you will receive the Notification of Admission via e-mail. You must enroll within 10 days from the date on the notification. Please note: If necessary, please apply for your visa as soon as you receive your Notification of Admission, to ensure you can start your program in time. 3. Overview of Fees • in Baden-Württemberg, international students who enter from outside the EU for the purpose of studying are expected to pay a fee of 1500 Euros per semester • In addition, every student has to pay the administration fee of 175,50 Euros per semester: Technische Hochschule Ulm | Verfasser | 06.03.2019 27
Reimbursement of fees 1. If you cancel your enrollment or study place (i.e. you have not started the course) at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, you will have to apply for a reimbursement of the fees by the end of the month in which lectures start at the latest (31 March for the summer semester and 31 October for the winter semester. → submit the form at the students’ service center 2. If you are being removed from the register of students (after starting your studies) due to stopping or breaking off your course, you must apply at the latest by April 15 for the end of the winter semester and November 7 for the end of the summer semester. → submit the form at your faculty’s office Please note that this only applies to the administration costs, you will need to make a separate application to get a refund for the Ulm Students' Union fee. 1. BAföG (Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz) • When your financial resources, those of any spouse and your parents is not sufficient to cover your financial needs while you are studying, you are eligible for BAföG • half the money is received as a grant. 4. 5.
