NOTES Welcome to Driver’s Education! Thank you for choosing Littleton Driving School. Learning how to drive and receiving a license is an important rite of passage for teenagers and our school hopes to make the process as easy and trouble-free as possible. Within this booklet you will find many important resources that will allow both parent and student to navigate the Driver’s Education process success- fully. Please be sure to read each component of this booklet carefully for it contains vital resources. Driver’s Education at Littleton Driving School consists of 30 classroom hours, 12 hours behind-the-wheel instruction, and 12 hours of on-the-road observation. Parents are responsible for an additional 40 hours of on-the- road practice. Students have one year to complete the program. The goals of our program are to promote safe driving attitudes, defensive driving skills, and respect for the rules of the road; to prepare students for the Registry of Motor Vehicles road test exam; and to prevent or reduce accidents and fatalities that include young drivers. We at Littleton Driving School, and myself personally, look forward to working with you and your child to make this process as educational, inter- active, and easy as possible. If you have any questions, I am more than happy to help out in any way I can. Good luck, and safe driving! Jack Jones, Driver’s Education Coordinator 17 2
