Here are five steps from Erchonia to making patients aware of your laser offerings: 1. Focus on target patients. “Understand who is a good candidate for low-level laser therapy and what benefits appeal most to them.” The company suggests identifying target groups — athletes, for example, or seniors, or people with injuries or chronic pain — and create content specific to each, posting it on your website and sharing via social media. 2. Create marketing materials. Create laser-therapy-specific pages on your website that you can promote using social channels and your email list. Check with your laser provider, too, to see if they offer ideas or marketing materials for your use. Use this material to educate; talk about how laser therapy works as well as its benefits. Mention published research studies. 3. Teach your staff. Make sure they’re ready to answer patient questions. You may even want to let them try a laser treatment so they can speak from experience. 4. Make a deal. Consider creating multi-session package deals you can promote on your website and via social media. 5. Give it away. Try a free laser therapy day at your clinic, or offer existing patients a free initial laser treatment so they can try it out. With their permission, you could take photos or videos and post to social media to spread the word about your new treatment options. Each month we’ll ask a new question on our Facebook page. From portable models to the fully robotic M6 MLS Therapy Laser, our products are designed to optimize patient outcomes and strengthen your bottom line. Based on three decades of research, the MLS Laser Therapy emission system synchronizes two wavelengths to achieve a simultaneous effect on pain and inflammation: The continuous 808nm wavelength emission decreases inflammation by stimulating blood flow and lymphatic drainage, inducing the reabsorption of fluid buildup, and interacting with the synthesis and degradation of inflammation mediators. The pulsed 905nm wavelength emission affects the transmission of pain at the level of superficial nociceptors and on the afferent nervous fibers. This results in an increase of the cell and nervous fiber stimulation threshold and therefore a reduced electroanalgesia targeting the feet and lower calves. Together, these treatments stimulate the nerves, block painful sensations, sensation of pain. reduce inflammation, promote nerve healing, improve blood flow, The MLS Laser Therapy emission system takes advantage and reduce muscle cramping and spasms. of each wavelength’s unique benefits that, when synchronized, reinforce each other to achieve results greater than the sum of Patient education its parts. IN ADDITION TO ITS WIDELY ACCEPTED USE FOR TREATING LOW-BACK PAIN, low-level laser therapy, or photobiomodulation (PBM), can be a valuable adjunctive treatment for metabolic and inflammatory diseases. When PBM modulates the gut microbiome in combination with targeted nutritional therapy, laser therapy for these diseases becomes even more effective. The value is evident in treating gut issues, low vagal tone and autoimmunity. CHIROECO.COM O C TO B E R 24 , 2 0 2 1 • CHIROPRACTIC ECONOMICS 19
