The future doesn’t wait. Neither should you. In challenging times, knowledge is power. We know that by opening this brochure you’re ready to supercharge your knowledge and professional skills by studying our world-renowned Bachelor’s in Global Hospitality Management. But we also know that travel restrictions could make it difficult for you to join us on our Crans-Montana or Marbella campuses when the first semester of our Bachelor program begins in October. When our world is changing this quickly, we owe it to you to ensure you can get your degree education underway without delay. So we have developed a unique solution, which will deliver the complete semester 1 Practical Arts curriculum through a blend of learning at home and on your chosen campus. We call it Les Roches Connect – this brochure explains how it works. We’ll support you at every step We’d love to see you on campus in Switzerland or Spain to begin your Bachelor studies in October. But if that’s not possible, we can still guarantee that you’ll achieve your first semester learning outcomes by spending a few more weeks at home before we welcome you to campus. Thanks to the power of digital technology you can learn, and apply, hospitality’s Practical Arts remotely; with all the teaching support you need to make a success of the experience. Our Les Roches Connect option takes the complete semester 1 curriculum and splits it into two teaching blocks of 10 weeks each. The first we teach remotely; the second is taught face-to-face on campus. You’ll still experience the pace of working in service; the pressure of the restaurant kitchen, and all the attention to detail needed in the rooms division. In short, we will teach you how a hospitality business works from the inside out. Before your remote studies begin, we’ll send you a special ‘welcome kit’, so you are ready to hit the ground running. 3

Remote learning: specially blended for you We can’t promise the fresh snow of the Swiss Alps or the warm winter sunshine of Marbella. But, while you’re learning remotely, we’ll make sure you don’t miss much else of life on campus. Your Les Roches Connect program mixes live online tutorials and demonstrations, videos, as well as one-to-one coaching and mentoring. Alongside each remote learning module (see next pages) you’ll also find a companion program of extracurricular activities linked to that module. These include competitions and challenges, live demonstrations and guest speaker interviews. Through our Student Affairs team, we’ll ensure everyone studying remotely can connect with each other, as well as with their fellow BBA1 students on campus. You’ll feel part of the uniquely close-knit Les Roches community… and this includes the opportunity to join our popular clubs and societies. You will also have full and direct access to highly personalized career services, with the same levels of hands-on support and guidance that you would experience if you were with us on campus. This is important, as semester 1 is when you’ll find, choose and secure your first professional internship. 5

Module 2: The Wine and Bar Universe Meet Paolo Basso A passion for oenology has taken Paolo Basso from his native Lombardy, in Italy, to a global career as a renowned sommelier. His passion, persistence and quest for perfection have earned him accolades such as Best Sommelier of Switzerland (1997), Best Sommelier of Europe (2010) and Best Sommelier of the World (2013).
