You have taken a major step towards having a fruitful life. Kelly Snow Enjoy that success and celebrate your accomplishment. Publisher/Editor The Courier-Times Always be at least five minutes early I get it. This is basic, boring, grown-up advice, but it’s true and it’s all about re- spect. Showing up early, whether it be for class, work or just to hang out with your friends, shows that you’re a serious person who respects and values others’ time. As a side note, always value and respect your own time. It’s one commodity that you can never get back once it’s gone. Surround yourself with winners I had to learn this lesson the hard way. It is exceptionally important that you are selective in who can enter your inner circle. Those people who demand all of your time and energy and do nothing to help you grow and suc- ceed will drag you down. In his many best-selling books, Jon Gordon refers to people like that as “energy vampires”, and they should be avoided at all cost. If you surround yourself with winners, they’ll help lift you up in those challenging moments. The energy vampires will drag you down. Find a passion Whether it be in a career or in what you do after you clock out of work, find something you have a true passion for and get after it. For many, who thrive to be helpers in their community, they do volunteer work, go into the medical field or another vocation where they can make a positive impact in their locale. For others, it’s a hobby like woodworking, car repair or reading or writing. Whatever it is, find something you love and figure out how to spend as much time as you can doing it. Graduation 2021 | 3
