Tou r O bj e c t ive s IQA’s Vision: Educating and Connecting our Extractive Industry 1. Learn of current New Zealand quarrying practices and methods in line with recent regulatory changes. 2. Learn of the mandated Worksafe New Zealand Certificate of Competency Requirements for Quarry Managers and Supervisors, lessons learnt from implementation, and potential impacts if such a mandatory requirement is introduced into Australia. 3. Develop professional networking relationships with New Zealand colleagues to share and develop leading practice. 4. Engage in personal learning outside of your current workplace by actively participating and challenging your current beliefs, ideas, and assumptions. 5. Learn of quarrying practices dating back 750 years to build homes, storage pits, terraces, and dry-stone farm walls. 6. Learn of renewable energy sources and the challenges of establishing such sources in populated areas. 7. Learn of the newest and upcoming technologies regarding drill and blasting. 8. Learn of current operating and safety systems, emergency management practices and core leadership capabilities via the IQNZ Conference Program plenary sessions.
Itinerary Please Note: Saturday 14/07 Travel Day - Arrive Auckland from various •The tour group will travel in a minibus driven by Australian ports and accommodate at Rydges a professional driver – this cost is included in the Auckland flight/vehicle component below. •2018 IQNZ Conference Registration Fee is Sunday 15/07 accommodated by the IQA and is no cost to the Escape Room as the group team building activity traveller (valued at $700).
