Message from C.E.O & Artistic Director Legends: ????? Arjuna – the Great Warrior Prince September Dear Friends, Happy Festival Season! For 21 years South Asian Arts-uk has been working away tirelessly to bring the very best of South Asian music and dance to the heart of communities, showcasing it on professional stages and at festivals. 2018 is the beginning of a new chapter. We are taking time to reflect on past achievements and focusing on the present to ensure we have a high quality offer for everyone. At the same time, we are looking to the future to create a vision that continues to celebrate the diverse rich classical, folk and contemporary arts and cultural traditions synonymous with Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and UK. I am really delighted to be sharing our Autumn/Winter Brochure full of wonderful performances featuring Internationally renowned artists, rising stars and next generation. Each concert is an excuse for us all to come together celebrate one of many festivals of hope that take place this time of year and support each other to get through the dark winter evenings. September is also the start of a new academic year, which is an opportunity for everyone to join our Academies, learn something new or build on what you already know. You are never too old or too young to learn. We of course could not do what we do without the public investment from Arts Council England, Leeds City Council, Trusts & Foundations, artists and generous individuals who have donated their expertise, time and money to ensure our charitable work can continue. I want to take this opportunity to say, ‘Thank You’ and hope you will continue to work with us to ‘Keep South Asian music and dance alive for generations to come’.
