THE CREW WHO LABOURED ON THE PLAY STUFF AND NONSENSE THE CREW WHO LABOURED ON THE PLAY DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE Welcome to Alice in Wonderland! Live theatre on stage is a wonderful gift!! It was so unpleasant and heart-breaking when the pandemic ripped it away from us. We are so glad to be back with you presenting this story in person. Alice in Wonderland is about a young girl who visits a land where nonsense reigns and rules and paradigms are thrown out the window. The story seems to be a perfect metaphor for the last year of our lives. Alice enters a land that does not make sense, where protocols and expectations are twisted on their heads. Things are upside down, right side up, and every which way. At first, Alice fights against the creatures of Wonderland and tries to grasp how this world works. She asks questions and tries to rationalize the world in front of her, but it is not until she gives in and creates her own meaning that she can escape the madness surrounding her. Sound familiar? This year has been a year of reflection and retrospection for us at Lexington Children’s Theatre. Our long-time Producing and Artistic Directors, Larry and Vivian Snipes, have retired and we will miss them. Their incredible dedication and hard work built LCT into the wonderful organization it is today. And now, it is time for our current staff, board, and community to vision what LCT can become moving forward. We hope you join us in discovering how we continue to bring imaginative, quality arts experience to the families of Kentucky. Thank you for your support of Lexington Children’s Theatre. At LCT, we believe in family and are glad you are a part of ours. #LCTFamily. - Jeremy Kisling, Producing Artistic Director
