September 2020 “Where Families Come to Play”
Dear GCC Members,
Welcome to September 2020. It’s been 1 year since I joined this great TEAM here at
GCC. It has been a year of trials and tribulations. Restrictions still are in place during this
green phase, room capacity limitations, banquet settings, dining options, social distancing;
I’m hoping there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Here at GCC the staff and I are here to
provide the best golf and food and beverage experience a member expects with safety
measures in place. Please look for the activities that are planned for this month; even
BINGO. This past month the golf course put on a couple member golf tournaments, the
1st Annual Ryder Cup, members had a blast; congratulations to Team Chuck., look under
Chuck’s article for the results. I want to also thank all the members who participated and

The pool is almost at the end of the season, but those who heard it from me, I’ll be keeping
the pool open a little longer this year, and weather is main factor. Please keep in mind we
will do our best with service and lifeguards (might be swim at own risk) but just as years
past staffing is zero to none during back to school. The golf membership’s numbers
increase this year, our membership numbers are ahead this time compared to last year at
this time. This is the result of the course being in excellent shape, under Brightview’s /
GCC Superintendent Tobin Ross leadership. Thanks Tobin. Early membership renewals
will be mailed out by mid-month, please see my attached letter also.
Keeping You Safe:
Here at Greensburg CC our member and staff ’s safety is very important to us. We are
always cleaning and sanitizing. Please help us keep you safe by wearing a mask when
inside the building. I would like to also thank all the members in helping GCC comply
with the Food and beverage restrictions on us when ordering drinks with food.
We are always looking to improve our services to the members here at GCC. If there’s
anything you think we should do to improve, please let me know. Members recruiting
members is vital. Everyone needs to be happy. If you know someone that may be
interested please have them contact Kristie Killen, Membership Director or myself. We
have a new program going into 2021. Members recruiting and referring members is still the
best way to increase membership.

2020 F and B Minimums/Payment due
dates and Membership Early Renewals
Just as a reminder, all Golf, Founders and Pool members have a quarterly Food and Beverage
minimum requirement associated with the membership. The requirement is $150 per quarter.
The first quarter consists of March, April and May. The second quarter is June, July and August.
The third quarter is September, October and November. The fourth quarter is December, January
and February. All food and beverage purchases go towards the minimum requirement
including to-go orders and bottles of wine. All members can access their current minimum
requirement through our online statement portal.
Please note that monthly statements are mailed or emailed on the first of the month for the
previous month’s activity. If you wish to pay by check, please ensure the check is received in the
office by the 16th of the month. If payment is not received by the 16th, the credit card on file will
be charged.
Early renewal letters and applications are being mailed this month. If you do not receive your
early renewal application by September 30th, please call the office. We will send you out
another application via postal mail or email. To take advantage of the early renewal pricing,
members must either pay in full or go on the payment plan by November 30th. There are
additional incentives for paying in full by November 30th that you do not receive on the payment
plan. The incentives are referenced in the renewal letters. If you have any questions, please do
not hesitate to call the office at (724) 837-1810 and ask for Kristie Killen or Jason Hopkinson.
Sept. 7, 2020 - Labor Day is the official end
of the Pool Season
Labor Day marks the official end of the pool season. Due to Covid-19 shortening our regular
pool season, the Greensburg Country Club’s pool will remain open for Members ONLY at a
“Swim at your Own Risk”. We would like to continue to provide our member’s with a place to
swim up until the weather turns. The pool hours after Sept. 7, 2020 will be: Monday - CLOSED;
Tuesday - Sunday 11am-6pm (weather permitting). Please know that we will not have lifeguards
or staff on duty at the pool.
New Hours for Kitchen and Dining Room:
Please review our hours of operation for updated hours in all our departments.
Due to Covid-19 and to ensure a beneficial approach to our indoor dining operations hours have
changed. The Upstairs Dining room will be CLOSED for lunch. The Grille Room will remain
open for indoor dining during lunch hours. Please wear a mask inside the Club House.
From the Membership Corner:
We are talking 2021!! So over 2020. With that being said, we have a bright,
shiny new Membership Promotion for 2021. With a $1000 Initiation Fee,
then 35% off dues year one, 25% off dues year two, then 15% off dues year
three. So a new member will enjoy unprecedented savings for three years
until the year 2024!!
(Only applies to New Golf and Founders Memberships)
As always, your referrals are very important. Refer a new member, and receive a $250 Food &
Beverage credit, up to $1000 on your account.

The Hempfield Area High School Golf Team will be practicing
and playing matches at GCC this season. Please be aware that the
first tee may be closed from 3:00 to 4:00 on days where they have
golf matches. Thank you.

Thank You to Coach Erdos for a
successful swim season
The club would like to thank Coach Tom Erdos and his assistant David Kratzenberger on a
successful swim season. At the beginning of summer, we were unsure if we would be able to have
a swim team this year due to outside circumstances. The swim meets were canceled but we still
formed a swim team to practice and grow together for the summer. They practiced every Monday
and Wednesday prior to the pool opening. This summer we had fifteen children join the swim
team. Over the summer, all the kid’s swim abilities and techniques grew exponentially. Next
summer, we hope to see even greater membership participation once we are competing against
other clubs again. We look forward to the 2021 swim season with Coach Erdos leading our little
swimmers.
