of work inspired by objects selected from the
museum’s collection. He was born in Nuneaton
in 1960 and during his youth the family would
visit the museum most weekends. Following on
from his early encounters with art his interest in
figurative conventions across cultures deepened through travels in India
and the Far East. Employing grid-like relationships of colour and form
the artworks look back, forward and sideways to reference childhood
memories, local history, and stories from other lands.
