Westfield Scholarship Opportunities Abbott and Fenner Scholarship – Available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registed in any accredited post-secondary institution. To apply for this scholarship, the student will write an essay on an assigned topic. The essay should be between 500 and 100 words. Submissions must be sent via email to: scholarships at abbottandfenner.com. Deadline is mid-June. Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Scholarship - To enter the scholarship competition, college- bound high school seniors must submit a 1,200-1,500 word essay that demonstrates how Alzheimer’s disease has impacted their lives and what they have learned about themselves, their family and/or their community in the face of coping with the illness. Applications may be submitted via the online application form or mailed to: Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001, Attention: AFA Teens College Scholarship. Applications sent via U.S. Mail must be postmarked no later than February 15. To qualify, students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and must also enter a four-year accredited college or university within 12 months of the application deadline. American Legion Oratorical Contest - A prepared oration must be on some aspect of the Constitution of the United States. The assigned topic tests the speaker’s knowledge of the basic principles of the government under the Constitution. Contest is in January. American Society of Military Comptrollers – This $1200 scholarship is awarded to seniors who pursue degrees in financial management. It is based on scholastic achievement, leadership ability, extracurricular activity, career goals, and financial need. Due in March. Balvaunuca Club Scholarship – Scholarship is based on list of extracurricular activities, honors, community service, recommendation, transcript, and a paragraph describing why scholarship is needed. Due in March/April. Barbara K. Tumperi Scholarship – Students must have a 3.0 GPA, college acceptance, autobiographical sketch, photograph, three letters of reference, evidence of financial need. Due in April. American Dollars for Scholars – Applicants are evaluated on their level of volunteer community service over the past four years, work experience, school activities, statement of goals, and recommendations. Due in March Burger King Scholars – Senior must work an average of 15 hours per week for 40 weeks per year, participate in community service, and demonstrate financial need. Due in December. Calvin Coolidge Scholarship – The Calvin Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Students apply for the Coolidge Scholarship during their junior year. Criteria is available at https://coolidgescholars.org/. Due in January. Clifton/Whitehead Scholarship – Criteria includes an essay listing all honors, career goals, and any special circumstances affecting the need for financial assistance. Recommendations, SAT scores, and transcript must be submitted. Due May.
Westfield Scholarship Opportunities Coca-Cola Scholarship - The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 33rd class in 2021, the Foundation has provided over 6,450 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $75 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.The application will be open until October 31st. Credit Union Scholarship – Senior must be a member of the Credit Union. Criteria is based on academic performance, community involvement, and extracurricular activities. Due in April. Daughter’s of American Revolution - Students will be nominated to write essay, provide two letters of recommendation, and a high school transcript. Deadline is mid-October. Dora Clarington’s Memorial Scholarship c/o Sandbed Baptist Church – Houston county resident and active member of a local church. Due in April. Equitable Excellence Scholarship -Every year, students across the country work hard to make a positive and lasting impact in their communities and beyond. And every year, Equitable awards $1.8 million in college scholarships to hundreds of remarkable young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. To recognize the important role their dedicated educators play in guiding these students along their path to success, Equitable also awards a $1,000 grant to every Equitable Excellence winner’s high school. The Equitable Excellence Scholarship (formerly known as the AXA Achievement Scholarship) is open to high school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university. Applicants must be United States citizens or legal residents and must have demonstrated ambition and self-drive as evidenced by an outstanding achievement in a school, community, or workplace activity. Please note that only the first 10,000 applications will be accepted! Deadline is late January. Federal Managers’ Association – Senior must demonstrate leadership ability, excellent scholastic achievement, and financial need. Due in May Fire Sprinkler Essay – Senior writes an essay on the importance of fire sprinklers. Flint Energies Walter Harrison Scholarship – The scholarship is for a senior who is accepted to a Georgia college or technical school. Students will submit a two-page autobiographical sketch with reference to future goals as well as involvement in the community. Students will submit a transcript and two letters of recommendation. Due in January. Florence Harrison Westfield Beta Club Scholarship – This scholarship is for a senior who has actively participated and shown leadership in the Senior Beta Club. The application is due in December. Frank and Betty Gooden Estes Scholarship – Senior must live in Houston County, have financial need, demonstrate high moral and ethical character, earn good scholastic grades, participate in

Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED) – www.fred.org – based on financial need, nomination letters and recommendation letters. Must be nominated by a telephone company. Due in February. Garden Club of Georgia Scholarship – Applicant must have “B” or better average and have financial need. Due in January. www.uga.edu/gardenclub GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program -The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program offers $10,000 renewable scholarships — up to $40,000 each — to numerous students annually. This national program is open to current high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship like that of our nation’s 40th President. Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support in college and beyond. Deadline is January. Georgia Farm Bureau – Parents must be members of Farm Bureau and student must pursue a degree in agricultural and environmental sciences, family and consumer sciences or related agribusiness field. Due in December – gfagro.org/gfb-scholarships Georgia Scholars Program – Student must meet eight criteria including maintaining a 3.75 non- weighted GPA, 1360 on the SAT or 31 on the ACT, letter of reference, elected position to a leadership position, and evidence of leadership in two difference organizations outside of the school community. Due in January. Golden Eagle Award – Must be nominated in a specific area, go through an interview process, and use talents in the school and community. Due in January. Houston County Bar Association – Essay on selected topic, letters of recommendation, resume, transcript – Due in April J. Steven Walraven Memorial Scholarship - The senior must be an employee of a bank for at least one year. Awards are based on merit, involvement in the community, and need. Due in April Julian and Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship – Scholarship is based on an essay on community banking, recommendation, and merit. Due in March Jim Herrin Memorial Scholarship – Criteria is based on track and field or cross-country participation, leadership roles, awards in track, outstanding academic performance. Due in early April. Joy Fellowship Scholarship – Requires an typed essay, copy of student transcript, a cumulative GPA of 2.5, a sample of the performing arts, a copy of the student’s college acceptance, and one letter of reference. Due early April. Kia Great Unknowns Scholarship - Kia America, Inc. is awarding $5,000 renewable scholarships to students who embody the spirit of “give it everything” through the Great Unknowns Scholarship. Applicants must be high school seniors, at least 16 years of age, who are planning to enroll in full- time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college in the United States for the entire

A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) is required. Deadline late April. Kiwanis Club Scholarship - Application includes a paragraph describing why the scholarship is needed, list of extracurricular activities, honors and awards, statement of educational goals, recommendation, and transcript. Due early April. Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship – To qualify student must be a U.S. citizen; demonstrated financial need; High school senior with a 2.5 or above GPA OR a freshman or a sophomore undergraduate student with a 2.5 or above GPA; Current or planned 4-year degree enrollment in the following majors: Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics; current or planned full-time attendance at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university; interest in a paid internship with Lockheed Martin following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college, other circumstances notwithstanding (note: the internship is not required to receive a scholarship, and scholarship recipients are not guaranteed an internship). Deadline is early April. Macon County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship – must have 3.0 GPA and 1000 on SAT, write an essay. Due in April Mary Elizabeth Paris Scholarship – sponsored by the Zaltana Club. Given to a student who has gone through an obstacle or life changing event that the student and/or immediate family member has overcome. Due in February. Mary M. Pope Scholarship – Senior must pursue a degree in education. Eligibility is based on GPA, SAT, community service, extracurricular activities, and financial need. Due January Master Gardeners of Central Georgia Scholarship – two $500.00 scholarships for seniors based on scholastic achievement, GPA, SAT/ACT, and other academic honors. Application is found online at mgcg.org. Due in May. Malloy-Edwards Scholarship – For residents of Macon County, Georgia only. Applicants must be a high school senior with a GPA of 3.0, SAT score of 1000 or better, ACT score of 17 or better, recommendation from two teachers, essay of 250-500 words. Due April. Naifa Image Builder Scholarship – Applicant must be a Georgia high school senior accepted by an accredited college or university. Student must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and ranked in the top 10% of their class. The family annual income must be at or below three times the poverty level. Due late March. Netdocuments Work Inspired Scholarship - Self-identify as racial or ethnic minorities, defined by the Census Bureau guidelines as the following groups: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, or Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander; Be current residents of Utah or Georgia, or students currently enrolled at a college or university in Utah or Georgia; Be high school seniors or graduates, or current college undergraduates; Plan to enroll in full- time undergraduate study at an accredited two-or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in Utah or Georgia for the entire upcoming academic year; Have a minimum grade point

National Merit Scholarship – Determined by PSAT score. Niada Foundation Scholarship - The NIADA Foundation promotes the academic growth of youth throughout the United States and awards scholarships annually at the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Convention. The Foundation proudly sponsors four young men or women each year who have displayed outstanding abilities in education. Applicants must be high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and high SAT and ACT scores. An essay will also be required as part of the application. Pilot Club Scholarship – Awarded to a female based on awards, extracurricular activities, educational plans, and need for scholarship. Due in March. Presidential Scholar Program – Students are nominated in one area: academics, art, and career/technical. The student must have demonstrated having a special challenge or hurdle in their application. Nomination submitted in November. Prudential Spirit of Community Award - The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honors students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Here's how it works: • By November 10, 2020, students must submit their completed applications, and signed student/parent agreements, to a certifier. (Certifiers can be school principals or the head of a county 4-H organization, Girl Scout council, American Red Cross chapter, YMCA or a Points of Light Global Network member.) • By November 20, 2020, certifiers select and certify top applicants for state level judging. • On February 9, 2021, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards announces state-level winners for 2021. https://spirit.prudential.com Robert Herman Leadership Scholarship – must have completed the Pulaski Youth Leadership program. Preston Scholarship – senior must have lost a parent to breast cancer, have a surviving parent of breast cancer, or currently diagnosed with breast cancer; based on grades (at least 3.0 GPA), 3 letters of recommendation; due in March. Robins Financial Credit Union Scholarship – Applicants must be a Robins Financial Credit Union member and a high school senior planning to attend a college in the state of Georgia. Applications must be completed in March. Robins Officers’ Spouses’ Club Scholarship – Senior must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a military dependent. Due in March. Rotary Club Scholarship – Senior is based on GPA, SAT/ACT score, extracurricular activities, and financial need. The senior usually attends the RYLA program as a junior. Rotary Speech Contest – 3-4 minute speech on Rotary Four Way Test or Rotary Theme. Feb/March Seth Stapleton Memorial Scholarship – student has participated on a shotgun team. Due in April. Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) – pursue engineering or architecture degree, based on academics, character, personal merit, commitment to engineering field. Spillers Orthodontics Scholarship – Two $1,000 scholarships to current or former patients. Due in March. STAR Student – The senior must be ranked in the top ten percent or is ranked in the top ten students in the senior class and have the highest SAT score at one sitting by November. Apply by January Additional Scholarship Sites 1. Fastweb.com Fastweb hosts more than 1.5 million scholarships that provide more than $3.4 billion in funding. Once you create a profile, the site’s search feature will help you find the matches that best fit your needs. Your personal profile is how the site helps you find pretty much exactly what you’re looking for. You can then also see all the scholarships you’ve applied for and those you may want to apply for in the future. They also have “contests” that you can enter monthly or weekly to win money! 2. CollegeBoard.org While the College Board is known for its college-readiness tests, it also has an arm that focuses on scholarships. Big Future hosts scholarships, as well as other financial aid and internship information from more than 2,200 programs — totaling nearly $6 billion. In order to get the most accurate search results, it’s critical to fill out as many details as you can in the profile that’s used for searching. 3. Niche.com Formerly known as College Prowler, Niche is a great tool that can help you find colleges AND money. It’s organized into categories that make it pretty easy to find what you’re looking for — allowing users to search by interest, career, major and other areas. Niche also has some occasional contests to enter. 4. Scholarships.com Scholarships.com hosts one of the largest scholarship databases out there and it’s updated on a daily basis. According to the site, “With more than 3.7 million scholarship and grant opportunities worth more than $19 billion, just about everyone is bound to find something.” It’s easy to browse by category, but the best way to take advantage of what the site has to offer is to create a personal profile, which will allow you to find the most exhaustive lists of opportunities available to you. 5. Moolahspot.com Moolahspot isn’t as robust as some of the other scholarship databases but in the search for a college scholarship, it’s another option to help you find extra money. The simple search engine contains more than 3.2 million scholarship and grant opportunities for students of all ages. It includes both need-based and merit-based opportunities, which means nearly anyone can find some extra help here. 6. SallieMae SallieMae is a well-known education and student loan provider. The site’s College Planning page has a scholarship portal where you can search based on your field of study, hobbies and other parameters. Create a personal profile in order to get the most accurate matches that fit your needs. 7. Scholarship Monkey Scholarship Monkey allows you to search for scholarships and grants a few different ways. You can search by keyword, browse scholarship lists (various categories/topics) and see lists of the latest and featured scholarships. This site also allows you to create a personal profile for more accurate results. 8. Cappex Cappex hosts a database of more than $11 billion in scholarship opportunities. Once you create a personal profile, you can search for opportunities that directly match your strengths and skills. Plus, Cappex has a tool that will calculate your odds of getting into a certain college before you even apply.

But Chegg is also a great resource for finding scholarships — more than 25,000 of them. To search for available scholarships, click on the menu stack at the top right of the homepage and select the “scholarships” in the drop-down menu. Once you create a personal profile, you can search for available opportunities that match your criteria. Chegg also has a “top scholarship picks this week” category that highlights some options you may have missed. 10. Unigo Unigo hosts millions of available scholarships and makes it easy to search by type, including athletic scholarships, college-specific scholarships, company-based scholarships, minority scholarships, major- specific scholarships, state-specific scholarships and more. You can search by category or create a personal profile to get more specific results that match your needs. Unigo also offers scholarship contests and sweepstakes. 11. Peterson’s Peterson’s hosts $10 billion in scholarship opportunities and provides information to help you in your search. Once you fill out a short survey, you can filter your search results so they’re tailored to your specific needs. The site also allows users to search by a variety of different topics, college types and personal details — in order to give you the best results. 12. U.S. Labor Department’s Free Search Tool According to the official Student Aid website, this free tool is a great resource for students to search more than 8,000 scholarships, grants and other various types of financial aid award opportunities.
