Welcome to WJ Copper Hills Baseball! We are excited for the 2023 season. We have many
dedicated volunteers that are here to make this season a success. Please remember that our
Board Members, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Parent & Team Scorekeepers are all
volunteers giving their time for the benefit of our children. We are open to suggestions and
would like to keep a positive atmosphere at the baseball field. All Board Members have
baseball email addresses, which can be found on the website. Please direct any necessary
communication via email. The season (game schedule) will start on Monday, April 3rd. Please
read through this welcome packet as it contains important information and dates to
remember (last page).

Sportsmanship
“Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play,
courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing."

Umpire Etiquette
As spectators of the baseball game, we want to have our players have a positive experience
on and off the field. Sometimes umpires make a call we don’t agree with. If you disagree
with a call, please do not badger the umpire or coaching staff, as this just makes your child
uncomfortable and usually does not solve the problem. The umpire has the last word on all
calls. If you disagree with the umpire, you may email your concerns to your Division
Commissioner, and they will be addressed as needed. We want the kids to learn that the
umpire does not win or lose games for any team. We ask for your help in this; to see that
each team has a positive experience, and that the parents and spectators set the example for
our children. If you have questions, please email the Umpire Coordinator at
umpires@wjchbaseball.com

Optional Pre-Season Baseball Clinic: TBD

Birth Certificates
If your player is new to the league, please email a copy of his/her birth certificate to
admin@wjchbaseball.com. If your player has played in the WJ Copper Hills Baseball League
in the past, his/her birth certificate has already been verified.

After-Game Treats
After-game treats are included in the original registration fee (TBall through Major Divisions)
and are for players to get treats supplied by the Snack Bar after each game. This takes the
place of parents taking turns bringing treats to the game. After-game treats will be
made available after the dugouts and bleachers areas have been cleaned up by the teams
and their spectators.

Snack Bar
WJ Copper Hills Baseball offers a full-service snack bar. All proceeds from the snack bar
assist with paying umpires and to help offset registration costs. The Snack Bar accepts cash

Ron Wood Baseball Complex Rules

complex and by the snack bar. NO SMOKING OR VAPING, DOGS (OR OTHER PETS),
SKATEBOARDS, ROLLER BLADES, SCOOTERS, BIKES or SUNFLOWER SEEDS are
allowed inside the Ron Wood Baseball Complex. Please see the full list of complex rules
online at www.wjchbaseball.com.

Parking
There are two parking lots for the Ron Wood Baseball Complex. Please do not park in no
parking zones such as; emergency lanes, along/in the roadway, or next to landscaping
islands in the parking lots. Designated parking stalls must be utilized. This is for the safety
of our players and families. The league has three League Official parking stalls, Snack Bar
and Umpire stalls. These are reserved for the League Officials on duty and State Umpires.
Please do not park in these stalls or you will be towed. The road in and out of the park needs
to be kept clear for traffic to flow both ways all night; this will allow EMERGENCY VEHICLES
to get in and out. West Jordan City Police Officers will ticket those who park in No
Parking zones.
