Ashish left a successful career in banking to return to Canada's cricket fold after a sporadic absence. He
has played in 3 world cups for Canada having first played as a teenager in 2003. Ashish will lead the team
as wicket keeper as well as the team's all time leading ODI scorer.

Harvir moved to Canada as a teenager and honed his cricketing skills as a medium pace bowler. Debuting
for Canada in the 2008 season, Harvir has become a mainstay in the Canadian pace bowling lineup. Harvir
played the 2009 domestic season for Colts Cricket Club in the Sri Lankan Domestic League’s Premier
Division.

Henry Osinde - 17

Henry picked up cricket at the age of 15 and immigrated to Canada in 2000. For the past 10 years he’s
been one of the top paceman in Canada. A tall and athletic fast bowler Henry has been a mainstay in the
team since 2005 and was the first player of African descent to play domestically in the Toronto league.
This will be Henry’s second world cup appearance for Canada, previously playing in 2007.

Despite being born in Sri Lanka, Gunasekera has grew up a true Canadian cricketer. Learning his trade in
the fields of Toronto, Gunasekera was one of the key players in Canada’s march to a best ever finish at
the 2010. Returning to his native Sri Lanka in 2010, Gunasekera starred in the premier domestic
competition as a top 10 batsmen before returning to Canada to take part in the Caribbean T20
tournament.

Nitish Kumar - 21

Another graduate of Canada’s u19 program Kumar is the youngest player every to play for Canada when
he made his debut at the age of 15 against Kenya in 2009. A naturally talented player, Kumar is the future
of Canadian cricket. He is the second youngest player in the history of ODI cricket to play in an official
ODI.

Karl Whatham - 5

Coming out of the Australian domestic system, Karl has made his home in the lower mainland after
arriving in 2007. An athletic fielder and useful lower order batsmen, Karl is an accomplished finisher. Also
bowling off-breaks, he is effective on both sides of the ball.

Hiral Patel - 13

The Man of the series in the 2009 ICC America’s World Cup Qualifier, Patel helped Canada into its first
u19 world cup in 4 years before making the leap to the senior team. He immediately announced his
intention to stay with an 88 on debut against the Irish in Sri Lanka. He has been part of the team ever
since and made an impact with the bat and the ball.

John Davison - 9

One of the players largely responsible for the resurgence in Canadian Cricket in the 2000’s, Davison first
helped Canada qualify for the 2003 Cricket World Cup and then rewrote history with a record breaking
century against the West Indies in South Africa. Davison followed that up with another dynamic
performance in 2007 and will be playing in his third world cup for Canada.

“Boom Boom” Cheema rocketed to world wide fame in 2008 striking centuries against West Indies and
Sri Lanka within his first 5 matches playing for Canada. Though best known for his big hitting, he has
emerged into a genuine all rounder and one of the stars of the Canadian team.

the West Indies in 2010 and has been in the senior team ever since. He picked up man of the match
honours in Canada’s historic win over Hampshire in the 2011 Caribbean T20.

Jimmy Hansra -68

Jimmy is a product of the BCMCL and one of the top players in the region. He first played for Canada in
2009 and made a reputation as one of Canada’s steady lower order batsmen. A versatile bowler, he bowls

Hamza Tariq -

A promising product of the Alberta domestic system, Tariq is one of Canada’s top young wicketkeepers
and has been Canada’s first choice gloveman when Ashish Bagai is not playing. He has featured in a
handful of first class games for Canada top-scoring in his debut against Zimbabwe XI.
MANAGEMENT TEAM

Pubudu Dassanayake

The head coach of the Canadian Senior Men’s team, since 2007, Dassanayake led Canada to a successful
qualification campaign in the 2009 tournament in South Africa. This will be the first world cup for the
former Sri Lankan Wicket Keeper batsman who played 11 tests and 16 ODI’s for his native Sri Lanka
before moving to Canada. Dassanayake played for Canada in 2006 and 2007 before taking up the role of
head coach.

Chandika Hathurusinghe

Currently working with New South Wales as a coaching consultant, Hathu, as he is known, is a former Sri
Lankan opening batsman and bowler who played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s during his career. Following his
playing career he coached Sri Lanka A and UAE before being appointed Sri Lanka’s shadow coach until
2010.

Rathan Moorthy

Canada’s match analyst since 2008, Moorthy had played and coached through the Alberta and Western
Canadian U-19 and u-25 programs for over 15 years before moving to the national level. He is a highly
rated associate analyst and participated in a 2009 coaching visitation with the Victoria Bushrangers and
Tasmania Tigers of the Australia domestic system.
Michael Henry

Canada’s senior team manager since 2004, Henry has been a fixture in Canadian cricket for decades. He is
a former senior coordinator of Cricket Canada, as well as a former umpiring coordinator. He umpired
matches at the 2003 Cricket World Cup before he became the manger, taking the team to the 2007
Cricket World Cup.

Johnny Bujan

Johnny is the manager or Canada’s ‘A’ team and will serve as assistant manager on the world cup tour. He
is the current owner/manager of Brampton Master’s cricket club who are the 2010 Elite Division
Champions of the TDCA.
Colin Berenhaut

Partner and Director of Sports Performance Centres Ltd, Berenhaut has worked with professional
athletes and teams over the past 12 years including professional athletes of the CFL, NHL, MLS, and
World Ranked athletes from USA, India, Czech Republic, Sweden and Canada in various sports including
swimming, soccer, figure skating and competitive dance. As a former Canadian soccer Team player, his
experience at the elite level allows him to understand the needs of the athlete from both a competitive
and physiological capacity.

Dr. Giovanni Perri

Dr. Perri graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Specialized Honours Kinesiology degree from York University
in 2005. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2009 as a Doctor of
Chiropractic. Currently, Dr. Perri is completing a post-graduate fellowship in sports sciences and masters
of science degree specializing in sports and rehabilitation.
