WELCOME TO TRU-BILT SOLUTIONS – SPRING 2020 The year continues to rock and roll like an energetic pop star, and we, the crowd, are swinging and swaying through the various Covid Alert Levels, which brings changes to business confidence and customer demand. One moment we see great optimism in the market and find it difficult to keep up with demand, the next we see extreme caution and a sense of reservation effecting the economy. Trade Shows and events that were thought to be back on track after the Autumn lockdown are on the back burner again following the recent emergence of new Covid cases and subsequent crowd restrictions. Even the change to New Zealand’s election date is expected to have a certain effect on market confidence. Uncertainty is a feeling that will likely persist within the industry as we move toward the end of 2020. But here at Tru-Bilt, we’re an optimistic crowd, and we think 2021 is going to calm down and let us all get on with our work in a more settled environment. Simple solution for small aero clubs and private hangars – Tru-Trac™ Sliding Doors Tru-Trac™ Sliding Doors are one of our most popular hangar door options, and it’s easy to see why. They are so simple to install that most of the time we sell them as supply-only kitset orders. They come together very easily and look the part on any aircraft hangar. This white Colorsteel door was fitted to the Canterbury Recreational Aircraft Club hangar, with four panels on a wheel-and-track framework and left-hand sliding configuration. The galvanised steel, single span construction covers an 18 metre opening on this building and provides excellent wind protection against the strong Canterbury gales. Tru-Trac™ Sliding Doors are fully manufactured in our Dunedin factory; the system can cover door openings up to 5.0mH x 20.0mW; provides smooth, manual access on heavy duty rollers; and can be clad by the client with their own choice of materials and colours. Last of our 2020 shows out the door due to new Covid resurgence Having had several trade shows and events cancelled earlier this year due to New Zealand’s Alert Level 4 Covid lockdown period, we were finally looking forward to attending a couple of exhibitions during September, for the first time in more than a year. But then the second wave hit and our schedule of events has once again been thrown in the air. Unfortunately, Safety 360, which had already been rescheduled from 17th- 18th March until 15th-16th September, has had to be postponed once again. It will now take place in March 2021. Furthermore, Foodtech Packtech has been postponed from 22nd – 24th September until 13th- 15th April 2021. Whilst it is disappointing to miss out on these industry events this year, we are behind New Zealand’s strategy of stamping out Covid-19 and we support the actions taken to save lives by depriving the virus of a breeding ground. Let’s hope we see greater success in 2021! Customising Tru-Dock™ Container Loading Systems to suit your operation We have completed a number of projects over the past year to improve container loading zones for export companies. Tru- Dock™ Loading Pods provide the ideal system for improving loadout productivity, controlling the environment between the storage area and shipping containers, and ensuring top-level biosecurity protection during the loading process. We have the capacity to custom-build loading zones using any combination of our standard loading pod components, providing fully automated, semi-automated and manual variations, as required by the client. Our loading systems can incorporate insulated moving pods with a choice of automated or manual push-out operations; inflatable dock seals or standard PVC dock shelters to provide weather protection and environmental control; and hydraulic vertically-stored dock levellers or simple, lift-in loading ramps according to requirements. Busiest year ever for sectional door demand – Tru-View™ and Tru-Therm™ We have been manufacturing two sectional door specifications for over a decade now; Tru-View™ Aluminium Sectional Doors (pictured right) and Tru-Therm™ Insulated Sectional Doors. Between the two designs, we have fitted out car sales yards, emergency service depots, cold stores, warehouse distribution depots, and many other businesses over the years. Always popular options for a wide range of enterprises and uses, they have never failed to keep our clients happy and are in constant high demand. Despite being such a strange year, 2020 has been our busiest yet for producing these doors. The NZ Fire Service is one sector that has kept us steadily occupied. These doors are just two of a number we have been working on for Spencerville Fire Station. Tru-Bilt sets own new Health and Safety record! During August we received the results of our latest SiteWise Health and Safety assessment for 2020. We were thrilled to have retained our SiteWise Green status, with a whopping 89%, which is higher than last year, and the highest score we have ever achieved in an external, company-wide Health and Safety assessment. SiteWise is a prequalification system that grades a contractor’s Health & Safety capability and publishes that grade in a database that can be viewed by other contractors and principal organisations. Backed by Site Safe, this system provides a platform for astute contractor selection and assists in tendering processes for everyone involved. To have set a new high score as a team, in the midst of a move to a new building, grappling with the Covid-19 crisis, and the huge workload our teams have been working on this year, is a testament to the exceptional commitment to Health and Safety by all of our staff. Well done Tru-Bilt team – a star performance! Australia - we’re here for you! Just reach out across the ditch for industry support We are acutely aware of the difficulties being faced by our friends and clients in neighbouring Australia. Like us, their battle with Covid also remains ongoing and unfortunately a trans-tasman travel bubble has not been able to eventuate so far. This has prevented our Australian Sales Manager, who is based in New Zealand, from carrying out visits to the market this year. While it is disappointing not to be able to meet and consult in person, we do want to assure our many Australian customers that we remain fully operational and open for business. Production capacity and shipping lanes are relatively unaffected, allowing us to supply our industrial doors efficiently, and any dock loading systems and traffic safety products you may need. We are just a phone call, email or zoom meeting away! www.tru-bilt.com.au | AU Phone: 1800 144 999 | Email: info@tru-bilt.com.au
Pedestrian safety a high priority at busy port – Tru-Rail™ Hand Rail does the job! There’s a lot of ‘big traffic’ working continually at Nelson Port, making it unsafe to have pedestrians simply wandering around the container yards and shipping docks on site. While dedicated walkways are provided and heavy vehicle drivers are well trained, we recommended the addition of physical guardrail as a visual marker to assist all parties. While Tru-Rail™ may not provide the same impact resistance of full crash barrier, it certainly delivers solid, high-visibility segregation for foot traffic, preventing pedestrians inadvertently stepping out into vehicle zones. It also provides a barrier for high edges and sudden drops, as well as hand-held support for stability on steep or slippery walkways. The system can integrate with Tru-Gard™ Certified Barrier for further protection if required. Looking good Nelson! This is a top secret training area for pilots at a North Island New Zealand airport, where they do simulated exercises for national security. We can’t tell you a lot about it because we are more in the dark than those inside the bunker. However, we were honoured to be selected as the trusted door supplier to meet special requirements. This project called for a well- sealed, insulated door to prevent both light penetration and prying eyes, which is also able to be removed annually for servicing. All the boxes were checked by our star-allrounder, the Tru-Therm™ Insulated Sectional Door.
