LA MAISON KAMMERZELL
STRASBOURG FRANCE - (1427 to
1589) The ground floor is in
stone and the upper floors in
carved wood with bottle-bottom
windows. The sculptures of the
beams represent sacred and
profane scenes, the five senses,
the four ages of life, faith, hope
and charity and finally, the signs
of the zodiac. On the facade,
several important characters
from the story appear: César,
Charlemagne, Hector and
Godefroy de Bouillon.
