SUBJECT-BASED BANDING (SBB) 1st INTAKE IN JANUARY 2018 Starting 2018, Fuhua Secondary offers Subject-Based Banding for the Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) courses. SBB aims to help each student find fulfilment in learning and be motivated to excel in what he/she is good at. Students can take subjects in which they have done well at a higher academic level. If your child is in the N(A) or N(T) stream, he/she may be offered EL/Math/Science/MTL at a higher level, based on his/ her PSLE subject grades.
SUBJECT-BASED BANDING (SBB) 2nd INTAKE AFTER MID-YEAR EXAMINATIONS (MYE) Based on your child’s results in the MYE, he/she may be offered EL/Math/Science/MTL at a higher level, starting the following semester (i.e. Semester 2 of 2018).
SUBJECT-BASED BANDING (SBB) 3RD INTAKE AFTER END-OF-YEAR (EOY) EXAMINATIONS Based on your child’s results in the EOY examinations, he/she may be offered EL/Math/Science/MTL at a higher level, starting the following year (i.e. Semester 1 of 2019). In general, Sec 1 SBB students will continue with their higher level subjects until the end of Sec 2. This is as it takes time for students to adjust to the higher level of rigour.

My four years in Fuhua Secondary School had been fruitful. Life in Fuhua has led me to reach my goal in getting into the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP). My teachers played a big role in making the person I am now. They imparted me with the school values (RISE) and challenged me to become a better person. I have forged strong friendships with many Outstanding and Upstanding Fuhuanites in this unforgettable journey. Dear Principal I was sending my daughter to your school this morning and I chanced upon a queue of Fuhua students lining up waiting at a traffic light near your school. Eventually, the lights turn green and the students walked orderly across the road. I have never seen such discipline and orderliness in my life, particularly at trivial traffic lights junction. It reflects extremely well on your school and the conduct of your students. And I am proud that my Daughter is a student of your school. … Loo (Parent)
