Welcome to Bloom Magic Boxes, your online digital workshop where you can play with flowers at home, and share and learn in an online community. Super fun, super SAFE, and super sustainable.
Bloom Magic Boxes was created to reach our local students, and now students across the USA, duing this time of safe distancing. Choose your class(es) and your 100% recycled cardboard box will arrive, full of beautiful blooms and fragrance*. With your toolkit included in your first lesson, you will create along with Kirsten at a live class on Zoom. See Eventbrite to register for a Thursday night or Saturday morning lesson. It is essential that you open your box promptly on delivery and get your flowers and greens into water. You shuld plan on this on class day or the day before. LESSON ONE January 7, 9 THE SUSTAINABLE COMPOTE Introduction to sustainable eco-friendly floristry. Learn to use a reuseable, non toxic "pillow" to arrange flowers and greens. Explore the basics of composing a garden style arrangement. LESSON TWO February 10, 12 THE MOSAIC HEART Learn to use another mechanic technique and focus on color theory, as we make a heart dish flower sculpture. Use a hydrangea to connect and hold shapes in place. Give to your sweetheart, or keep for yourself, it will be a tough decision!
LESSON THREE March 11 and 13 THE PIN FROG and ART OF IKEBANA Begun thousands of years ago in Japan, Ikebana is a careful, meditative flower arranging endeavor. We will learn two of the ideas of Ikebana and make an arrangement of choice, using the pin frog mechanic. Bring your best zen vibes! LESSON FOUR April 8 and 10 A FINE LINE Learn about working with line flowers and creating a design inspired by the curves and shapes of these blooms that can be an architectural foundation. Talk about balance and symmetry, and how to design for diferent places in your home. LESSON FIVE May 6 and 8 THE MOSS PURSE Prepare a whimsical design using an unusual moss covered container. Learn about spring flowering bulbs and how to design from your yard or the store for color, impact, and long life.
LESSON SIX June 10 and 12 THE SUCCULENT CANDLE RING Take a peek into the fascinating world of succulents and learn how to care for these jewels of the desert. We will make a project for your outdoor space to enjoy all summer and beyond!
Q&A WHAT IS IN THE TOOL KIT? Floral shears, waterproof floral tape, lightweight sticky wrap, clear grid tape, paddle wire, a 2.5 inch pin frog, Oasis flower glue, mini clear rubber bands, a mini journal for notes. This is priced at $35. While you could with a lot of effort try to assemble this yourself, BMW has done it for you at wholesale cost. WHAT COMES WITH EACH LESSON? All the flowers and greens you need (and a little extra for later) and the container for that lesson. You will also need your tool kit. DO I HAVE TO TAKE THE CLASSES IN ORDER? No, you can take whatever fits your interest and schedule. WHAT IF I WANT TO DO A CLASS FOR MY PARTY/BOOK CLUB/CHURH GROUP? We are happy to do a custom party for your group, please contact Kirsten to set it up. WHAT IF I DO 3 OR MORE CLASSES? We offer a 10% discount on your total tuition if you book 3 or more classes. CAN YOU SEND THE BLOOM MAGIC BOX IN THE MAIL? Yes, we can! There is an additional charge to cover postage, it varies by location. WHAT ARE THE FLOWERS LIKE? They are premium flowers and foliage with a mix of familiar faces like roses, and things you may not have seen before. Bloom Magic Boxes will have diverse American flowers that can handle the ride to your home. CAN I SHARE A BOX WITH A FRIEND? You will probably be OK sharing a tool kit for 2 people, in the same physical location for the Zoom Workshop. Each person will need their ownn Bloom Magic Box, as the materials are curated and portioned out for a single user. CAN I GIVE BLOOM MAGIC BOXES AS A GIFT? Yes, we have beautiful e-gift cards we can send for you with your message! Please ask Kirsten for details at kirsten@bloommagicweddings, and we will set up your gift. Must be redeemed in 2021. WHAT HAPPENS ON CLASS DAY? As soon as you receive your box, open it up and place your flowers in water. They should drink at least 2 hours before arranging. Directions in the box. Be ready with a work space and your flowers and tools. It's exciting and fun. I have goals to teach you, but the magic is the people interacting with the flowers and each other.
