Started planting this gardening season?
Part of the journey to becoming a true green thumb is knowing
how to care for your plants – that includes knowing when to water
and prune, how to use mulch and whether your plants need
fertiliser.
While native plants tend to be low
maintenance, they will still need a bit of love
every now and then.

Find out how to keep your garden thriving
through tips by Green Adelaide – a statutory
State Government board established to
create a cooler, greener, wilder and climate-
resilient Adelaide that celebrates our unique
culture.

Women of Walkerville
The WoW Foundation presents:
A tour of the historic and scenic grounds of Marble Hill

Come on a tour of the historic and scenic grounds of Marble Hill. Built in 1878 by
Governor Sir William Jervois, Marble Hill was the Vice-Regal summer residence for
75 years from 1880, until it was destroyed by the Black Sunday bushfires on 2
January 1955. The main structure remained a ruin until the property was purchased
in October 2009, by Patricia and Edwin Michell, residents of Medindie. The Michells
have started a massive restoration project, which has included the extensive grounds,
stables and lastly the main house.

Patricia Michell has previously spoken twice at Women of Walkerville events, giving
us the history and the challenges of this project. We now have an opportunity to see
for ourselves! Please note the main house is still a construction site and will not be
accessible.

Join us for a guided trip to the hills, a tour of the property and afternoon tea with a
glass of rosé in the historic stables. We advise that this tour is for attendees who do
not have mobility limitations. All funds raised are for the charities of the Women of
Walkerville.

Wednesday 22 June 2022, 1pm-5pm, $80 plus booking fee per person. Book by

Street sweeping helps keep the Township clean
Our street sweeping programs are seasonally adjusted to
effectively manage the level of risk in streets where issues are
present generally relating to street tree litter.

While we make every effort to keep our streets clean year-round, you can help out by
doing the following:
 • Avoid sweeping leaves or clippings onto the road;
 • Do not park caravans, trailers or boats on the road for extended periods.
