2014 WATER TRASH FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE RULES PLAYER UNIVERSE To assemble your team, you will draft players from a list of all NFL players, in both the AFC and NFC. ROSTER LOCKTIMES Individual slots lock at the game time scheduled for the player in that slot for each matchup period. This occurs even if the player is not playing, so make sure you move injured players prior to their team's scheduled game start. LINEUP LOCKTIMES Individual roster slots lock when the team of the player in that slot is scheduled to begin their first game of the matchup period. LEAGUE SETTINGS & DRAFTING In order for the draft to proceed, it is required that ALL team ownership slots are filled prior to draft time. It is very important to register your team before the draft is set to start. UNDROPPABLE PLAYER LIST All Standard leagues will observe ESPN's Undroppable Players list. The Undroppable Players list is comprised of select elite level players who cannot be dropped to waivers at any time during the football season. ESPN introduced this feature to prevent collusion The undroppable player list will be updated by ESPN and the Commissioner throughout the season. If a player becomes injured serious enough to be placed on the IR, he will be removed from the undroppable list. Although very unlikely, if an undroppable player loses his starting job during the season (due to lack of production, turnovers, legal troubles/criminal charges, etc), he will be removed from the undroppable list. TRADES Trades are allowed. As a result, the league will not get to vote on trades. If two teams agree to the trade then it passes. The Commissioner can veto a trade only if he deems it to be collusion. It is not the league’s nor the commissioner’s job to determine if trades are fair. If collusion is thought to be an issue then the commissioner will ask for each team to submit a statement about why the trade benefits them. Trades involving the commissioner will be treated like any other trade unless there is opposition, in which case the trade will need to be upheld by a minimum of 2 owners not involved in the trade. A player cannot be traded between two teams more than once in the span of 4 weeks. This is to prevent the renting players for bye weeks. Draft picks and future draft picks can be traded at anytime. Future draft picks can be traded up to 3 years into the future. Gentlemen Agreements will not be enforced by the Commissioner. This applies to situations like “add this player and I will trade you this.” Trades like this are allowed but just remember there is no guarantee. The trade deadline is Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00 AM CT 1

The two winners will play each other with the winner getting the 3rd draft spot and the loser the 4th. The two losers will play in the Sacko and loser will be awarded the Sacko trophy and will have to pay 50% of the league champion’s league fees the following year. They will receive the 1st draft position and the team that wins the Sacko game will get the 2nd draft position. We will be using the ESPN standard Decimal Scoring System. If a player earns points that are not recorded in Fantasy Scoring then the Commissioner will adjust the scoring accordingly. This can happen with Special Teams touchdowns and it can also apply to a WR playing DEF in hailmary situations and getting a INT. This will need to be brought to the Commissioner’s attention by the owner to ensure that it has not been overlooked. The score will be adjusted after the box score has been reviewed. 2
WATER TRASH LEAGUE RULES Last Update: August 21, 2014 WAIVER PRIORITY All unowned players will be set as 'On Waivers' immediately after the draft, each week of play or if dropped from another team's roster. Players on waivers will remain so for a set period of time (1 day), during which all teams will have the opportunity to make a claim on any player. When the waiver period expires (which usually takes place around 3AM CT), the player will be awarded to the team with the highest waiver priority that made a claim, and that team will move to the end of the waiver order. This process continues until all players with claims on them process. At this time all players not added via waivers become free agents which can be claimed by any team on a first-come, first-served basis. After the Draft has been completed, the waiver order will be in reverse order of the first round of the draft (Ex. First pick in the draft will be 10th in Waiver Priority). After Week 1 the five losers from that week’s games will be put into a drawing to determine the order they will have in the waiver. The five winning teams will be put in order of Points Forced (PF); the team forcing the most points will be 10th in the Waiver Priority. After the first week the waiver order will not reset each week. For the remainder of the regular season and playoffs the Waiver order will be a continuous cycle as the priority is used. Waiver priority can be traded. TIE BREAKERS If a matchup, regular or post-season ends in a tie then the tie breaker will come down to which team’s starting QB has the most points. This will likely be a non issue due to the Decimal Scoring. Playoff tie breakers will be determined in the following order: 1 Head-to-head record, 2Points Forced, 3In Division record. PLAYOFFS The playoffs will consist of six teams. Each playoff matchup will span only 1 week. At the conclusion of the regular season, the winner of each division will receive a first round bye. If two (or more) teams have the same record at the end of the season the tie breaker will be determined as follows. 1Head-to-head Record 2Points forced for the season 3In division record. The 3rd and 4th seed will be the runner-up from each division. The 5th and 6th seeds are the wildcards. The teams with the best record outside of the top 4 will earn the wildcard spots regardless of division. 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5 The lowest advancing seed will play the #1 seed with the other playing the #2 seed The playoffs begin in Week 14 and the Super Bowl will be in Week 16 3
WATER TRASH LEAGUE RULES Last Update: August 21, 2014 PENALTIES AND FINES Fines will be given for the following: 20pts – For not setting a competitive lineup. Hopefully this will not be an issue. Applies to major injuries that are known in advance and bye weeks. 10pts – For not responding to trades. This may seem harsh and I hope it does not become an issue. I know most are busy, but trades are pending for 2 days and with the amount of technology available I think it reasonable to expect this. DO NOT send a ton trades and hope that some fall through the cracks. The fines will likely not be an issue and rarely dished out. The goal is to hold owners accountable for participating in the league. The fines will be implemented toward the season’s point totals not individual matchups. Throughout the season each owner must field a competitive starting lineup. Translation: each starters spot must be an Active Player. No team should attempt tanking games to try and move up in the draft or down in the playoff seeding. Just because Ryan Mallet is and active player does not mean he can be your starting QB as long as Tom Brady is Active. Basically don’t try and tank games by playing scrub players or the Commissioner will intervene. If there is a situation where a team's starters have all been scored (i.e. all of the starters have completed their games and cannot be awarded any more points) and the team winning the matchup still has players left to play, the GM can, if they choose, rest those remaining starters to avoid the risk of losing the matchup from negative points. The Commissioner will not levy a fine in this case. Furthermore, although the possibility is rare with a decimal scoring system, if the 2 teams are tied and the team winning the match-up due to tie-breakers decides to rest the remaining starters, the GM will not be penalized. However, should there be any score adjustments either by ESPN or the Commissioner to account for errors that changes the outcome of the matchup, the new outcome will be final. WATER TRASH LEAGUE RULES Last Update: August 21, 2014 INJURED RESERVE ROSTER SLOT (IR) Each team will be allotted 1 Injured Reserved (IR) slot on their roster. This spot is for players that an owner wants to hold onto while the player recovers from injury. The only players that can be added to this slot are players that are listed by their NFL team as being on Injured Reserves. This is an additional spot on the roster. Owners can have a full 16 man roster and a 17th player in the IR spot. In order to add the IR player back to the active roster a slot must be available. KEEPER LEAGUE GUIDELINES At the end of the season each team will be permitted to keep a set number of players (3). A player can only be kept for a maximum of three seasons. Teams are not required to keep any players, but for every player that is kept, the team will lose the draft pick in which the player was drafted. If a player is added to the team through a trade and is kept at the end of the year his original draft round will be the round that is forfeited. If a team keeps two players that were drafted in the same round then they will forfeit their next highest pick. Players that are kept that went undrafted and picked up from the waivers will be valued as a last round pick (forfeit 16th round pick). A player can only be kept for a maximum of three consecutive years. Think of it as a three year contract that when it is over, the player goes back to the open market. If a player is kept for 1 year and then traded, the receiving team will only have the player for 2 years (the remaining length of the contract). Once a player is back on the free market any team can draft him and start a new a contract, even the team that has held him for the three previous years. If a team trades away a future pick and it is from a round that one of their keepers is from then the next highest draft pick is forfeited. Teams have to announce the players they intend to keep 2 weeks prior to the draft. AWARDS The winner of the league will receive 90% of the league fees minus $15 for trophy and league maintenance (for the 2014 season that will be $345) and the Water Trash League Championship Trophy. The runner-up will receive the remaining 10% (their league fee, $40) The team that finishes last will receive the Sacko Trophy and have to pay 50% of the league champion’s league dues the following season. There are a number of digital trophies that are awarded that go into your “Trophy Case” on you teams Home Page: Champion Division Champion 2nd Place Sacko (Last Place) rd 3 Place 5
