De Gournay, maker of exquisite hand-painted wallcoverings, was founded in 1986 by Claud Cecil Gurney to fulfill a need. While searching for artisans to restore the antique wallpaper in Gurney’s home, he discovered that this traditional art was on the verge of disappearing and made it his mission to resurrect it. Each wallpaper is a unique work of art with each artist leaving a part of themselves in the creation.
