Summer W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs Relaunch Between Friends exists for our members and their families. We believe in connection and friendship - physical distancing does not come easily for us. Our priority during this global pandemic has been and will continue to be the health and safety of all our stakeholders. Using teamwork, creativity, and a positive attitude we have been able to adjust and adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, while working to get back to in-person programming as soon as it is safe to do so. Will W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs Relaunch in Summer 2021? We are hopeful that we can safely relaunch W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs this summer. While we have already started our planning for W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs to run, our ability to reopen depends on guidelines and restrictions from the Government of Alberta . Outdoor gatherings with a maximum of 10 people are currently allowed (at time of publication). If there are any changes in our ability to successfully relaunch W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs we will be referencing tthe he Government of Alberta ‘s “Open “Open for Summer Plan”Plan” We continue to diligently watch COVID-19 developments and to follow recommendations from Alberta Health Services and all levels of government. W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs Relaunch Phases We have prepared 3 possible phases to relaunch W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs in 2021. Each phase is designed for different levels of restrictions and COVID-19 situations in Alberta. We will be registering Summer W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs in Phase 1 of our plan. 4 W.E.S.O.A.R! Where can I find more information? Between Friends has developed a Relaunch Plan to guide our decision making and actions. Between Friends’ Relaunch Plan contains our approach to a phased relaunch of key services. It contains the most current information since the day this guide was initially shared. Additionally, Between Friends has also developed a specific W.E.S.O.A.R! Adult Programs COVID-19 Relaunch Plan. This document is important to read prior to attending any W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs as it is specific to W.E.S.O.A.R! Programs. It provides in-depth information into how we are keeping stakeholders safe and what participants can expect at the program. As we know, COVID-19 continues to change quickly. This document may change as the pandemic continues and more information becomes available. We are committed to sharing important updates with you when possible. 5 www.betweenfriends.ab.ca | @calgarybfc

Volunteer Opportunities This year we have made the difficult decision, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all stakeholders, that we will not be offering volunteer opportunities within our W.E.S.O.A.R! Programming with members. We recognize having volunteers in our programs offer additional support to our members and staff as well as important volunteer opportunities. Due to COVID-19 we need to keep our group sizes small to reduce the risk of transmission and therefore will be unable to accommodate volunteers directly with programs. Aktion Club YYC Aktion Club YYC members develop initiative and leadership skills, give back to their community, integrate into society, and gain new experiences. In partnership between Kiwanis Club of Calgary Northmount and Between Friends, Aktion Club YYC provides opportunities for adults with disabilities to demonstrate the dignity and value of citizens living with disabilities. Aktion Club YYC. Currently we are not offering in-person volunteer opportunities. Aktion Club virtually meets monthly to catch up, discuss virtual opportunities, and to stay involved. New members are always welcome. For more information about Aktion Club or how to join, please contact: Nikki Stevens (nstevens@betweenfriends.ab.ca | 403 508 0114) 8 W.E.S.O.A.R!
