Player assessment during the last round of previous season whilst actively involved in competition 2. Pre-season player assessment. These sessions are compulsory. Once printed this document becomes uncontrolled Document .2018 Registration Information Rev No.1 4 of 7
Season Handbook 3. Coaches Assessment of player performance within their own team from the previous season. This also includes attendance, effort and attitude. Grading is based on year of birth, not school year, as per FNA requirements. Proof of age may be requested. Participation at the Club’s grading trials is compulsory, unless there are special extenuating circumstances. Any absence must be communicated in writing to the Grading Coordinator PRIOR to the commencement of trials. Please note that absences may be taken into account when team placement is considered. Grading trials will begin in February 2019. Every endeavour is made by the Grading Committee to place members appropriately in teams taking into consideration skills and team balance. We cannot guarantee to place your daughter with her friends. If you choose to withdraw your daughter from Palmyra Rebels Netball Club once registration and grading has occurred, a portion, or all, of fees is non-refundable. Please refer to our refund policy. Once a player is graded and the teams announced, the Club’s policy is not to move that player to another team, other than exceptional circumstances (eg where a player is seriously injured and this necessitates another player to be moved). All teams are submitted to FNA with Rebels’ grading request. The grade of the team is then decided upon by FNA. Please note FNA will not change teams’ grades once the clubs have been notified. For further information on grading process, please refer to the Club website. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Rebels via secretary@prnc.com.au. 7 Training Details for 2019 Training will commence the week following the final grading session and training times for 2019 will continue at the same time each week for the duration of the season. Therefore all players from 14 years old onwards will be allocated club umpiring duties throughout the playing season to cover these requirements. FNA imposes a $50 fine per duty to the club for failure to umpire, along with a team penalty of 2 premiership points deduction. This fine will be passed onto the rostered player/umpire as well as a further emergency substitute umpire fee, totalling $80. If you incur a fine you will be unable to play until it is paid. The club will be running in-house umpiring courses prior to the 2019 season commencing for all players starting at introductory level. Palmyra Rebels will also be continuing their Mentoring program in 2019. This program aims to give more support for younger umpires and development for umpires wishing to extend their umpiring experience and qualifications further. Please note that if PRNC contributes to the cost of your umpiring education, then there is a reasonable expectation by the Club that you will give Palmyra your 1st priority to umpire for us when you are available to umpire during the season. The club will have a Relief Umpire Register for players who are unable to fill their allocated duties. It is expected that these umpires are paid by the player who enlists the Relief Umpire. Please ensure that the Relief Umpire is paid before the game duty is covered. To be included on the Relief Umpire Register it is expected that all umpires are to have completed the Online Section 1 Theory Examination and provided the Umpiring Co-ordinator with their results prior to them being included on the Register. We encourage interest from players who are high school aged and older for inclusion in the Relief Umpires Register. To be included (both Juniors and Seniors), please complete the relevant sections on umpiring when registering as a player on-line.
