Jack served as a Harvey & Marilyn Burke celebrated their County Councilor and was also an MLA. 60th Anniversary (June 24th) on July 17th at their home Condolences to his families and friends. in Clive. Condolences to the family of Dennis Blacklock, All the family including grandchildren who passing on June 22, 2021. He is survived and great grandchildren were able to attend by his wife Pauline and 4 children, as well as except one, which is a lot of people! 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Congratulations!

6 Cats and Dogs The Village of Clive requires all cats and dogs to be registered and, on a leash, when off your property. Cats are not allowed to run at large. Residents experiencing unwanted cats can contact Animal Control Services at 403-506-9380 to coordinate setting a cat trap and collection of any cats. Note that Animal Control does attempt to locate the owner of any inadvertently caught pet cats however without registration and a tag it is not possible to contact the owner. Please be a responsible pet owner and ensure your dog and/or cat does not run at large and be sure to remove any defecation. Noise – Respect your neighbours and observe quiet times Please observe Clive’s Noise bylaw and limit equipment noise to between 7am and 10 pm Mon through Saturday and to between 10am and 10pm on Sundays. Highway 12/21 Water Connection Delayed – Public Information meeting rescheduled for November The Highway 12/21 Regional water line joining the Village of Clive and Edberg is currently expected to be complete in the late spring of 2022. The Village of Clive will be changing its water source from well water (ground) to water from the Stettler Water Treatment Plant located on the Red Deer River (surface water). Watch for the public information meeting in November to learn more and ask questions. Sewer Lift Station – Construction Construction has commenced on Clive’s new lift station at the east end of 51st Avenue. The Village’s sanitary service is not expected to be impacted during construction. The new pumping station is planned to be in service in early September. Council Meeting Schedule Clive’s regular Council meeting for August will be on August 16. Meetings return to the second and fourth Mondays in September. Meetings are open to the public and can be attended in person or virtually via Zoom. Property Taxes Due August 31 – Avoid Late Penalties Reminder that Clive’s Property Taxes are due and payable without penalty if payment is received by the Village Office on or before August 31, 2021. A penalty of 8% will be added on September 1 for all current taxes unpaid after August 31. The August 31st deadline and penalties are not applicable to commercial properties or property owners currently enrolled in our monthly Tax Installment Payment Plan (TIPP). Election 2021 Municipal Election Day is Monday, October 18, 2021. The Nomination Period is new for 2021; it starts January 1, 2021 and remains open until 12 noon on Nomination Day, Monday, September 20, 2021. Village Wide Garage Sale - September 11th - Get Your Location on the Map Don’t miss out on Clive’s annual trash to treasure event! To register your sale, call the Village office at 403-784-3366 or via email to abby@clive.ca to get on the Garage Sale map. Updated Fire Bylaw - Invoicing for Fire Department Responses Clive Council has approved significant changes to its Fire Protection and Emergency Response policy and bylaw. These changes ensure Clive’s Fire services align with best practices and are consistent with Lacombe County. Ratepayers will be invoiced for fire calls and motor vehicle accident responses. You are encouraged to contact your insurance company to ensure you have adequate coverage for fire response costs. Dry Conditions – Be Responsible with Backyard Recreational Fires Residents of Clive are still allowed to enjoy the summer with back yard recreational fires. Note conditions are hot and dry so act accordingly ensuring your fire pits, and stationary barbecues are constructed of appropriate non-combustible material; are supervised at all times by a responsible adult person over the age of eighteen (18); only burn untreated wood, charcoal briquettes, propane or natural gas; and ensure flames are no higher than three feet above the fire pit or the barbecue fire box. 7 The Clive Coyotes baseball team, consisting of 13 and 14 year-olds, played in Clive on July 2, 3, and 4th in a round robin tournament. Five teams attended including Drayton Valley, Red Deer, Camrose, Coronation and Clive. Clive won 2 games and lost 1. They played again in Calgary July 30, 31, and August 1 and will again 2 weeks after that in Drayton Valley.
