CITY TRANSIT CONTINUES TO FIND ADDITIONAL WAYS TO PROTECT RIDERS AND DRIVERS Transit is pleased to announce that another layer of protection has been added. Transit drivers are now able to self-test three times per week with a 15-minute rapid test for COVID-19. The data is collected (no driver specific details) and provided weekly to the Ministry of Health. This precaution is in addition to the COVID safety measures which have been in place since the spring of 2020. Transit has been diligent in implementing precautions which have included barriers, mandatory masks, hand sanitizing, physical distancing and elevated levels of sanitizing the buses and facility. To date there have been no driver cases and no contact tracing of any COVID transmission to or from transit.
