03 WELCOME TO WOLFSBURG WOLFSBURG’S MAYOR KLAUS MOHRS In 2018, the city of Wolfsburg celebrated its 80th birthday – a very young age for a city. Its development in this short time span truly is a success story, as Wolfsburg has become one of the most dynamic cities in Germany. The city and its residents benefit from the growing quality of life and economic power. Volkswagen, a global player, has built a strong partnership with Wolfsburg’s residents and continues to enrich this city with interesting jobs, eye-catching innovations and exceptional leisure-time offerings, such as the Autostadt. More and more people have come to ap- preciate Wolfsburg as a wonderful city to visit and as a great place to live. Today the city is again exploring new horizons, with aspi- rations of becoming a model city for digitalisation and mobility, and offering people a pleasant and inspiring living environment.
