VISITING BOUNDARY PARK… THE GRECIANS MAN AT THE TOP... MATT TAYLOR The 39-year-old was appointed as first team Manager at Exeter City on 1st June 2018 following the departure of Paul Tisdale. Taylor returned to St James Park after a spell as a player with the club making 160 appearances and scoring 17 goals. The former defender signed for Exeter in June 2007 and he was part of the side that won 1-0 in the play-offs. Also, Taylor was in Grecians' starting XI that played in the club’s first game back in the Football League against Darlington. In July 2011, he left Exeter to join Charlton Athletic, where he was named vice captain under Chris Powell. But he was released at the end of the 2012/13 season. He went on to play for Bradford City, Colchester United and Newport County as well as a few other clubs. Overall, Taylor made 162 appearances and netted 19 goals as a footballer. In his first campaign as manager he missed out on a top seven finish by a single point. Last season, he guided the club to the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off final but suffered a heavy defeat against Northampton Town. BOUNDARY BULLETIN - 05

WHAT GOES AROUND... ...COMES AROUND Latics fans favourite James Tarkowski takes a look back at his professional debut and recalls who he was marking that game. "I can remember who played upfront for Leyton Orient which has come around in a full circle because it was Harry Kane who played as the striker against me. I think he was on loan getting experience whilst at Spurs. “I think that we played okay that day, we defended really well for the most of it, but they ended up scoring a strike from about 30 yards out and it sort of kicked up off the grass and lifted up over Ben Amos. “But, overall, on the day I think that we played quite well and like I said it's come around full circle because I recently came up against Kane in the Premier League and it's amazing to see how well he's progressed."
