Ticket Links Planning a Football Trip to Africa Cup of Nations 2019 The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will be held from 15 June to 13 July 2019 in Egypt, this post has all the initial details of the schedule, venues and tickets to help you plan your Football Trip. he competition will be held from 15 June to 13 July 2019, as per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017 to move the Africa Cup of Nations from January/February to June/July for the first time. It will also be the first Africa Cup of Nations expanded from 16 to 24 teams. The tournament was initially scheduled to be hosted by Cameroon. On 30 November 2018, Cameroon was stripped of hosting the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations due to infrastructural delays, the Boko Haram insurgency and the Anglophone Crisis. Cameroon will host the 2021 event, having lost the rights to the 2019 edition. North Africa will host the tournament for the first time in 12 years after being hosted by Egypt also in 2006.
This is the fifth time that Egypt will host the African Cup after 1959, 1974 1986 and 2006 to be the most host country in the continent. Egypt boast many international-standard venues with the Cairo International Stadium (72,000) and Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria (87,000) boasting the largest capacities. Format At the finals, the 24 teams will be drawn into six groups of four teams each. The teams in each group play a single round robin. After the group stage, the top two teams and the four best third teams will advance to the round of 16. The winners will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals. The semifinal losers will play in third place match, while semifinal winners will play in final. The tournament takes place between 15-22 June, three weeks before the Island Games. There will be ten teams contesting the men’s tournament and five competing in the women’s equivalent, with the draw for groups in the men’s tournament to be conducted this Sunday (in partnership with the Football Association of Wales). It will take place in Estonia in Summer 2020 and this post has the details. The 2020 UEFA European Under-17 Championship (also known as UEFA Under-17 Euro 2020) will be the 19th edition of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship (38th edition if the Under-16 era is also included), the annual international youth football championship organised by UEFA for the men’s under-17 national teams of Europe. Estonia, which were selected by UEFA on 9 December 2016, will host the tournament. All 55 UEFA nations entered the competition, and with the hosts Estonia qualifying automatically, the other 54 teams will compete in the qualifying competition to determine the remaining 15 spots in the final tournament. The qualifying competition consists of two rounds: Qualifying round, which takes place in autumn 2019, and Elite round, which takes place in spring 2020. A total of 16 teams will play in the tournament, with players born on or after 1 January 2003 eligible to participate. The 16 teams will be drawn into four groups of four teams. The hosts Estonia will assigned to position A1 in the draw, while the other teams will be seeded according to their results in the qualification elite round. The seven best elite round
group winners (counting all elite round results) will be placed in Pot 1 and drawn to positions 1 and 2 in the groups, and the remaining eight teams (the eighth-best elite round group winner and the seven elite round group runners-up) will be placed in Pot 2 and drawn to positions 3 and 4 in the groups. Tickets Early bird tickets for the Asian Cup went on sale on June 28 for corporate tickets and general sale tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster. Most tickets will be sold in advance online, but ‘last-minute’ tickets for games that have not already sold out will also be available to buy during the tournament at sales centres in the UAE.
