Great White Sharks at Guadalupe This trip focuses fully on great white sharks, and is set up as a 5 night live aboard trip, where you will stay onboard the very comfortable Nau=lus Explorer. You will board the vessel in Ensenada, Mexico, and from there con=nue towards the island of Guadalupe, one of the best places in the world to experience diving with great whites in clear blue water. In the floa=ng cages the air is surface supplied with so called hookah which is simply a long hose with a regulator on top. This way you do not need a tank or a BCD. The surface is just above you, so it possible to get up whenever you want. You do not need a diving cer=ficate to dive with hookah in the floa=ng cages and you can spend almost as much =me as you want there, restricted only by the water temperature which is18-21⁰c. Because of the temperature, you will need a good two layer wetsuit with hood, boots and gloves. Submersible cages are offered to cer=fied divers. Although the submersible cage lowers to only 6 meters below the surface of the water, it provides a completely different perspec=ve to the shark diving experience. The view offered by the submersible cage is a photographer’s dream come true. You are actually surrounded on all sides by the magnificent great whites in clear blue water. Both professional and amateur photographers rave about the different angles available to capture the mighty great white sharks of Guadalupe Island. +46 301 - 221 00 | scubatravel.se info@scubatravel.se facebook.com/scubatravel.se
Nau2lus Explorer The white shark diving we will do during a five day long cruise with the luxurious liveaboard boat Nau=lus Explorer. It is a carefully built ship that was custom designed for divers to the highest possible level of comfort and safety with a layout that u=lizes every bit of available space. The crew takes excep=onal pride in keeping the boat spotlessly clean and running smoothly. Your comfort is priority everywhere onboard. The Nau=lus Explorer is a happy ship and carefully designed to be very safe with a heavy, strong steel construc=on and extensive soundproofing. The vessel's hullform, passive stability system and bulbous bow provides for a remarkably easy ride while heavy-duty commercial grade systems ensure that you have a smooth-running voyage. A water level placorm ad of the dive deck provides easy entry into dive skiffs. Imagina=ve and fresh cuisine is one of the cornerstones of the business. Soups are homemade; bread, pastries and deserts are baked onboard and there is always lots to eat with up to 4 meals a day, a choice of entrees and plenty of snacks. On offer is a mix of both buffet and table service with a menu that combines North American and European tastes and also a touch of Mexico. Having a chef and two hostesses means that they can take excellent care of our guests. Most special dietary requests can be cheerfully accommodated with advance no=ce. +46 301 - 221 00 | scubatravel.se info@scubatravel.se facebook.com/scubatravel.se
About Scuba Travel ambassador Tomas Jansson Joining you on this adventure is Scuba Travel ambassador Tomas Jansson. He will give you =ps and tricks to make your photos as personal as possible. You can also ask him about GoPro filming and freediving, two of his favourite things to do. As early as 9 years old, Tomas started free diving with Nisses Freedivers club. And it was at this point his interest for diving and marine life took off. As a 15-year-old, Tomas became a free diver instructor for children between 9-15 years (on a voluntary basis) and 19 years later you can s=ll find Tomas at Nisse’s on Friday evenings. Years went by and eventually Tomas switched over to scuba diving. He took a number of courses, with the ul=mate goal of becoming a PADI Dive Master. His interest in underwater photography has only grown stronger over the years, and ader a shark expedi=on to the southern Red Sea Tomas understood that underwater photography was his future. Thomas has now been traveling around the world for years and is s=ll discovering exci=ng new des=na=ons to explore. There is always something new that amracts Tomas. His main interest today is sharks, large and small. He is very grateful for the opportunity given to photograph endangered species. He will gladly tell you about his trips and underwater photography. If you are curious and want to know more about Tomas and his ac=vi=es as well as see his crea=ons, then visit www.scubasite.nu. +46 301 - 221 00 | scubatravel.se info@scubatravel.se facebook.com/scubatravel.se
UW photography with Tomas Jansson During the trip you will have the opportunity to take spectacular photographs of great white sharks. Tomas will give some short, informa=ve and inspiring presenta=ons during the trip about: • Mee=ngs with whales and other large animals • Choosing lens for wide angle photography • Safety in photography and filming large animals • Video Filming and edi=ng (GoPro) Target audience The in-water part of this trip is very simple with only snorkelling, hookah or a max depth of 5-6 meters in the cages. It does not mamer if you are a well experienced scuba diver or shark fana=c who has never tried scuba equipment. On this trip it is your passion for being close to these magnificent sharks that counts, not your previous diving experience. If you would like to stay hours in the water together with great white sharks, then this is the trip for you! In fact, to take part you do not even need a diving cer=ficate. As long as you feel comfortable in the water it is possible to do cage diving with white sharks without previous experience of scuba diving. Non-cer=fied divers need to stay in the floa=ng cages. To dive in the submersible cages you need to be a PADI Advanced diver or equivalent with at least 20 dives. +46 301 - 221 00 | scubatravel.se info@scubatravel.se facebook.com/scubatravel.se
