We are not selling popcorn, we are selling Scouting. Popcorn is a just a tool used to get the support of people. Popcorn fundraising, benefits the scout, the unit, and council. It is important for the unit popcorn kernel to be active during the popcorn season. Positivity breeds positivity. With covid, we have to be adaptable and flexible. Think outside the box and be creative. 2

There are 7 requirements that can be met for Cub Scouts toward earning belt loops There are 6 requirements met for Webelos and AOL adventure pins There are 16 requirements in various Merit Badge and 1 complete Merit Badge can be earned by selling popcorn 3

These need to be submitted to the District Executive by October 31st. DE need to approve them. Have PK see the big picture and explain to families. Unit Program Planner and Budget Agenda Unit Program Planner Budgeting Products Set a goal Program Planner template available at www.trails-end.com This program planner is a great template to use to plan your unit’s yearly program and budget. This also helps parents see what the expenses are and how fundraising helps reduce activity costs. This excel spreadsheet is available on the council website and explain how to navigate to the popcorn page; go to TVC website, click on Activities/Events, click on popcorn sale. 6
What’s New 2021 • Multi‐Factor Authentication (MFA). Users will now receive a code instead of reCAPTCHA. • You can even add additional contacts to your Scout account. That way mom, dad, and other family members can take the Scout selling and still receive the MFA code • In 2020, reCAPTCHA was implemented on the Trail’s End App and website. TE is committed and continuing to improve security for the protection of your information and TE systems. • Based on requests from leaders, Scout families and industry trends, Trail's End is switching to eliminate reCAPTCHA to help you sign in faster, easier, and safer while also providing greater security. • Please verify your email and phone # in your account(s) and add additional contact information for Scouts' accounts, if necessary. Recruitment Tip: The recruitment feature allows your unit to collect contact information from families interested in joining the program while selling popcorn. When the form is completed, an email is sent to the leader of the unit, your council, and the recruit gets a link for more information. 8

TRAIL’S END LEADER PORTAL If possible open up the leader portal page and show the different options and tools on the left side. Leaders cannot access this through the APP, they must login using a web browser. 10

Every scout needs to be utilizing their portal, whether it is through the app or the desktop portal. Put in all sales via app or desktop. This is the only way scouts can get credit for TE rewards. 11

TRAIL’S END APP Encourage scouts to set goals. It helps motivate them to sell. In past experience, some scouts will set additional goals once they meet their goal. 15

Credit/Debit Turn in cash collected from Wagon Sales with a credit/debit payment to your unit. • Navigate to Wagon Sales in the App • Click PAY NOW • Enter the payment amount • Swipe your credit card or enter manually and keep the cash • “Pay Now” does not count as a credit sale towards Trail’s End Rewards points No need to carry around cash until you see your Popcorn Kernel. Traditional Products Go over the traditional products. *Highlight the new products. *Talk about the additional products available through online direct (products may vary). *Units can print these sheet, laminate and take along for door to door sales for customers to view (easy to wipe off when laminated). 40
American Heroes American Heroes Donation Program When a customer purchases an American Heroes Donation, a portion of the purchase goes back to local kids and Trail’s End sends delicious treats to first responders, military men and women, their families, and veteran organizations. Trail’s End has teamed up with Soldiers’ Angels to distribute the popcorn to VA Hospitals, National Guard units, and military bases across the country. • Over $66 million worth of popcorn has been donated to U.S. troops over the years • In 2019, over 2,900 pallets of popcorn was shipped to 45 locations in 22 states NEW in 2021: In addition to a one-time donation, customers now have the option to sign up for a monthly donation amount (minimum $5)! • American Heroes donations can be in any amount. • NEW in 2021: In addition to a one-time donation, customers now have the option to sign up for a monthly donation amount (minimum $5)! • A prompt will pop up at check out time for online sales asking if the customer would like to donate to American Hereos. **PKs need to remember to enter all American Hero donations in their final order. Only way scouts get credit with reward points is to have it listed as an American heroes sale. 41
TVC 2021 Show-n-Sell Order Initial Order • Units will be able to order up to 70% of their 2019 popcorn sales with adjustment for reduced membership. • Initial orders are due by Monday, Aug 30th. Additional Orders • Units will have the opportunity to place additional orders during the popcorn sales • Additional Order schedule is below • Orders for Sept 24, need to be placed by Sept 20 • Orders for Oct 1, need to be placed by Sept 27 • Orders for Oct 8, need to be placed by Oct 4 • Orders for Oct 15, need to be placed by Oct 11 Final Order • Final orders need to be placed by Nov 2 Read through 42
TVC 2021 Show-n-Sell Order When you place your unit’s initial order, a pop up box will appear with the following. *For assistance determining your popcorn order, use the order auto populate tool for recommended product order quantities.* You will enter in the total dollar amount that you want to order and it will auto populate each product quantity based on historic sales in your region. You can adjust the quantity to better fit your needs. 43

3 Simple Steps to Success 1. Always wear your uniform and introduce yourself with a smile. 2. Practice your popcorn sales speech. 3. Always say “Thank You” even if the customer does not make a purchase. Example Speech: “Hi, my name is ! I’m earning my way to summer camp. Can I count on your support? All of the popcorn is delicious, and you’ll help fund many adventures in Scouting. If you don’t have any cash, don’t worry, I can take credit cards!” Read through 48
