For me, having great mentors has made a huge STORY difference to my career. People within Arcadis have been very influential, encouraging me to follow my passions, accept challenges, and embrace opportunities that arise. There are so many fantastic people in the business who you can learn from and who can give support and confidence. But our industry is really struggling to breakdown diversity and inclusion boundaries so it’s important for me to act as a role model for other people in the business and show what can be achieved. In the future, I want to continue to challenge stereotypes and perceptions and set our organisation apart from others. I believe we can only attract a diverse workforce by acting like a diverse workforce. London Bridge Station The transformation of London Bridge Station is part of Network Rail’s £6.5bn Thameslink Programme and one of the most complex and ambitious rail station redevelopments in the UK to date. As the fourth busiest station in the country, increased capacity has been provided by creating new platforms for more trains, building a new concourse, and developing a bigger and better station for passengers. Crucially, as a key part of the rail network it was not possible to close the whole station. This meant that the £1bn re-development had to be undertaken while the station continued to handle up to 52 million passenger journeys a year. 17 Transform your world: • emergingtalent@arcadis.com • www.arcadisukearlycareers.com @ArcadisUK @Arcadis_GS Arcadis 18
