Letter From the Town Supervisor Town of Ramapo Greetings Ramapo Residents! Michael B. Specht As we continue to navigate a new way of life after a very Supervisor difficult 2020, we want to be sure that everyone is aware of Brendel Logan-Charles the many safe and outdoor opportunities which are available Deputy Supervisor through the Town of Ramapo. We have worked through the pandemic guidelines to learn and identify ways to keep active Michael Rossman and safe. We will continue to pay close attention, and follow Councilman all guidelines, as we offer new activities and programs. David Wanounou Our goal is to make sure we have something for everyone Councilman in every season. As winter is upon us, we have the Joseph T. St. Lawrence Center open for members to enjoy fitness classes, Yehuda Weissmandl pickleball, cardio machines, tennis, family open gyms and Councilman MICHAEL B. SPECHT racquetball. Our Senior Citizen’s Community Center is open for you to reserve your spot to participate in various activities Supervisor, Town of Ramapo Parks & each day. Recreation Staff When spring arrives, we will be ready! Our Parks and Recreation team has been working on adding new and improved park facilities, including a new bridge for Children’s Michelle Antosca Park, updates to basketball courts and outdoor beach volleyball under the lights at Herb Director, Parks & Recreation Reisman Sports Complex. You can get out on the greens at Spook Rock Golf Course, play Chris Vogel on one of our many playgrounds, tennis/pickleball courts or ballfields. For those of you Parks Maintenance that enjoy passive recreation we have walking paths as well as quiet spaces to just enjoy Supervisor a nice peaceful day in the park. This spring we are excited to be part of the NY Boulders as they join the Frontier Robert Farese League and new relationship with MLB. Many new teams and partnership opportunities Recreation Activities will come from across the U.S. to Ramapo for some exciting baseball matchups. Coordinator Summer gets us all outside where we can swim in our two town pools, be a part of Michael Leslie one of our many summer camps, play tennis, pickleball, baseball, softball, basketball, Recreation Leader volleyball and much more! Please be sure to read the information on our annual events which may look different, Meghan Phillips but feel the same! Our Egg Hunt, Movies in the Park, Dog Swim and Trunk-or-Treat are Recreation Leader offered for your enjoyment. Understanding that individual use of the pools will vary by household, we have come up with three SADDLE RIVER POOL payment options. LAP SWIM: We will be offering adult lap swimming at both Saddle River and Spook Rock Pools on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am – 11:30am. This will be available June 28th through August 15th. Noise Pollution: Since it is our policy to ensure the peace and tranquility of all residents using the Town Pools, we have instituted a noise pollution decree. Therefore, electronic devices with external speakers are NOT permitted in the pool area. Please Note: These are family pools. Proper bathing suits will be required by all patrons at ALL times while on the pool grounds. Only approved swim diapers will be permitted in kiddie pools and splash pad area. Smoking permitted in designated areas only. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED AT ALL TOWN OF RAMAPO FACILITIES AT ALL TIMES. JTS Community Center Annual Events March 26 - Egg Hunt Ramapo residents ages 2-10 are welcome! Our Egg Hunt is followed by arts and crafts and a personal visit with the Easter Bunny for a photo.
