As we continue to follow public health directives, we recognize the value of physical activity as it relates to mental health and overall well-being. I encourage residents to stay active and stay safe while discovering the best of what New Tecumseth has to offer. Throughout the global pandemic, the Town of New Tecumseth has innovated, adapted, and transformed our programing and services to continue delivering programs to our citizens. Red Cross Swim lessons instill the fundamentals of agility, balance, coordination, speed, and rhythmic movement, teaching valuable lifesaving skills while in the water to children and adults. Program content teaches all five strokes (front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke elementary backstroke, and sidestroke). THE GREAT TRAIL OF CANADA www.thegreattrail.ca The Great Trail of Canada is a cross-Canada trail system made up of waterways, greenways and roadways. The Town of New Tecumseth in partnership with The Great Trail of Canada Trans Canada and the County of Simcoe, has been building the trail in our region since 2012. The Great Trail is made up of more than 400 community trails and extends over 27, 000 kilometers through 13 provinces and territories. It is the longest recreational, multi-use trail in the world. The New Tecumseth TCT is a non-motorized trail.
