• Torbay covers an area of over 24 square miles • It is made up of the three towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham • Over 20 beaches and secluded coves along 22 miles of coastline, also known as the English Riviera However the team cover the wider area in South Devon, from Dawlish warren to Kingsbridge, Ashburton and Dartmoor Inequalities have been widening as relative deprivation worsens; Torbay is ranked as the most deprived local authority in the South West region (JSNA, 2018) PZ152 Case load total - Jan 2020: 133 Patients 125 diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 4 diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 1 diagnosed with MODY 3 currently Undiagnosed
Team finally starts their journey together………………... • The number of children looked after by PZ152 have 709 per 10,000 who are either a child the local authority remains amongst the in need, looked after child or on the child highest in England • Around 1 in 4 children continue to live in protection register compared with the south west households where income is less than that has 407/10,000 and England and Wales that 60% of the median income (living in poverty) has 350/10,000 • Torbay’s economy is amongst the weakest in England, and has declined in recent years
