Not Before 8.30am Students must not be at school before 8.30am. They are not supervised and may be unsafe. Supervision is provided from 8.30am in the top amphitheatre and the bottom COLA area. If a child inadvertently arrives prior to 8.30am they must go and sit outside the front office. They are not to play or walk around.
Dental Clinic The free NSW Health dental clinic will commence next week. The clinic will be here for the next 4 weeks. If you have returned your child’s permission and information form they will be checked by the team. You will receive a simple report that will indicate if further treatment is needed. Clean Up Australia Day Tomorrow is Clean Up Australia Day for schools. We have taken a slightly different slant this year with a focus on a commitment to reduce waste in the first place. Students will watch and discuss some media texts about reducing waste. They will also consider making a pledge to reduce waste. Some examples may be: • I pledge to bring in a low waste lunchbox at least once per week • I pledge to collect 3 pieces of rubbish when I visit a beach or park • I pledge to not use single use straws when I visit a café or restaurant, • I pledge to recycle my 10c containers and compost my food. Michael Burgess Principal SENIOR CHOIR This year students in years 3-6 have an exciting opportunity to be involved in the senior choir. Now that we are allowed to sing again, with restrictions lifted, we are thrilled to be able to run the senior choir again. Rehearsals will be before school on Tuesday mornings at 8:30am in the 2SF classroom (near the stairs to the top oval). We are hoping to be involved in many performance opportunities including the Central Coast Choral Festival in October. Places are limited for the festival but we welcome everyone for the school choir. If your child is interested in joining the choir please send them to 2SF on Tuesday morning 9th March at 8:30am. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the senior choir singers on Tuesday. Rebecca Smiley and Liz Summersby Senior choir teachers

Premiers Reading Challenge The 2021 Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) opens on the 1st March and runs until the 20th August, 2021. This Challenge is free for students to participate in and promotes a love of reading. Kindergarten and Stage 1 students are reading their 30 Premier’s Reading Challenge books as part of their Library lessons, but you are also encouraged to participate in this great scheme at home. If you would like a copy of the recording sheet, they are available at the school library. Students in Stage 2 and 3 are required to read 20 books (15 from the PRC book list and 5 free choices). Students will be provided with information on how to log their books in Library lessons. The Library staff will happily log any completed record sheets for younger students. We look forward to your support in participating in this fantastic program. Further information is available at https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html Please contact Ms Foster or Mr Bridge at the Library if you have any queries about your PRC account or the Premier's Reading Challenge.
