July 3, 2020 THE SHORES DAILY Keeping You Connected... While We're Apart COME WATCH THE PARADE! JULY 4TH AT 10:00AM Come to the parade as we introduce the flag of the 8th military branch: SPACE FORCE The U.S. Space Force's mission is to "organize, train, and equip space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. Its responsibilities include developing military space professionals, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to the Combatant Commands” We ask that you practice social distancing plus wearing masks as you line the route and cheer your fellow neighbors and veterans!! The parade will start at 10 AM at the Kelsey Gate. It will progress along Shoreline and continue on Oak Hill all the way to Waterview Circle, and return to Shoreline. From there it will pass by the Lodge and continue to the end of Old Barn. The return route will be along Woodview and finish at the Lodge. MANAGEMENT OFFICE CLOSED FRIDAY AND SATURDAY The LBS Management Office will be closed on Friday, July 3rd and Saturday, July 4th in observance of the holiday. The Lodge will be open 8:00am - 7:00pm on Friday, July 3rd and from 8:00am - 4:00pm on Saturday, July 4th. BEACH OPEN FOR SWIMMING! LAKE BARRINGTON SHORES TENNIS ASSOCIATION Tennis is Back at LBS! New LBS Residents Invited to join in the fun! Sunday, July 5th: Drop in tennis from 3:00-5:00pm Bring your own water and tennis balls. There are only benches on the hard courts, you may want to bring a chair. Saturday, July 11th: Our first planned event: Mixed Doubles beginning at 9:00am Signup for this event will begin on Monday, July 6th. Bring your own water, and a chair if you wish. Tennis balls will be provided. Signup will be via email or phone (see info below). Possible rain date will be Sunday July 12th, at 3:00pm. More planned events to follow! Be sure to keep your eye out for information in "The Daily Shores" on the bulletin board by the courts, and in your email. There are currently no dues being charged this summer. We may charge for individual events as the summer progresses and when needed. See you on the courts!! LAKE BARRINGTON SHORES SAILING ASSOCIATION The Lake Barrington Shores Sailing Association is holding its July 4th sailing race this Saturday at 1:00 pm. The theme is 'Decorate Yourself And Your Boat!' Our Racers will go for all-out patriotism in creative red, white and blue adornment of the beautiful LBS sailboats, in hopes to win the vote for best decorated.
